I've never actually HEARD a joke ribbing a white man. I've heard redneck jokes, farmer jokes, hillbilly jokes etc. but never one that explicitly uses race as a punchline. At least not one that was worth telling - How many times have you heard "A white guy, a black guy, and a Mexican walk into a bar..." that ends up with the white guy being the 'butt' of the joke?

some women have such low self-esteem that they think no man would ever want them, so when one does show interest, they'd rather take the abuse than be alone. Some women think they can change the man, if only they show him how much they love him. And, as sick as it sounds, some women believe that jealousy and abuse prove that the man cares about them.

again you mix scientific THEORY (relativity) with scientific LAW (gravity), as if there's no difference. That's probably my fault because I let myself get sidetracked with refuting Einsteins absolutism instead of helping you differentiate between the two. To clarify: A scientific law generalizes a body of observations. At the time it is made, no exceptions have been found to a law. Scientific laws explain things, but they do not describe them. A scientific theory is an educated guess, based on observation, which can be supported or refuted through experimentation or more observation. A scientific THEORY can be disproven, but not proven to be true. The Theory of Relativity describes what we THINK will happen, not what we KNOW will happen. If we treat religion with the same di

but it ALSO supports my assertion that the religious ARE less able to accept doubt than are empirical scientists. While I've heard more than one researcher say "I cannot say for certain that God does or does not exist." I have never, EVER heard anyone in the religious community admit that THEY can't say for certain the God DOES exist either.

does not make it so, any more than DIS-belief makes something false. Evidently the scientists YOU know are far more arrogant than the ones I know. That said, I fear that you wrong dear old Albert by placing him in with such absolutist company...after all, he DID say "No amount of experimentation can ever prove me right; but a single experiment can prove me wrong." And since you chose Einstein as an example, I would give you two MORE quotes by that auguste gentleman, "As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality." - and - "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." Einstein was quite comfortable with the possibility of being wrong, as any honest, empirical scientist

you stated that "Scientific method insists that the spiritual realm can not be proven to exist by observable, empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning, thus it must be assumed that it does not." actually since 'science' observes/describes phenomonae (not explains them), I doubt that such an assumption would be made. Of course, the observations are not perfect, as they are limited by experimental errors, both systematic and random. That doesn't mean the observations are bad. It just means that they have limitations, of which scientists are aware. These limitations mean that the conclusions are also not perfect. Scientists will hardly ever give you "the right answer". Instead, they'll say things like "its likely that", or "it's probable

but I would certainly acknowlege that the chemical component exists, even if I might not subscribe to the idea that it is the ONLY component of love. The religious won't even give that much respect to science. And I have to dispute your assertion that "It is easy enough for science to prove that spiritual love does not exist." No, it isn't. Since, by definition, 'spiritual love' is not part of the PHYSICAL world, at this time it cannot be proven nor disproven to exist.

supposedly, after the crucifixion Jesus' ghost appeared to the remaining eleven disciples and told them to go out an annoy people in His name. Matthew 28:18-20 28:18 - And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 28:19 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 28:20 - teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Immigrants" DO have all the rights and protections of American citizens, including living "peaceful productive lives". I believe the original post was confusing illegal aliens sneaking in from Mexico with decent, law-abiding Mexican immigrants. By definition "illegal aliens" are NEITHER law-abiding nor citizens. They need to be sent home, forcibly if necessary.

there hasn't been a negative stereo-type about long hairs since metal went mainstream. The real killer of the "hippie" myth though, was Billy Ray Cyrus' mullet.

I'm rabidly pro-choice but I understand the feelings behind the anti-abortion hatred. These people truly BELIEVE that a two-cell zygote is no different than a fully developed and born child. Because of this belief, they view abortion as murder.

what about an animal that's been fed commercial feed, which often contains bone meal? These days, good luck finding commercial meat that's grass/grain fed. If you can, and you trust the supplier to be honest, then it'll cost you a pretty penny.
