No. You, as a person, are unique. Everyone is different. All my life I have been called a 'sellout' because my nose 'is white'. This meaning my nose is straight and pointy. Not the stereotypical 'wide' nose of black people. All people come in all shapes and there are many noses to each ethnicity. Also, my hair is thick, straight, and has a lot of body -- 'white'. I can also speak grammatically correct English--doesn't mean anything other than that. I, too, can speak in a Southern, or (ebonically) 'black' accent. Just because you can/do speak properly doesn't mean you're a sellout. It just means you (also) know and can utilize proper speech. Nothing more. Nothing less. You are only a sellout if you aren't true to yourself.

I've noticed the same thing. When out with my white male friends, black men (with white women on their arms) do glare at you. Others do, too. I think black men feel it's OK for them to do it, but feel black women should stay true to the race. Personally, I feel you should be with whoever you want.

J, that's not just Black folks. Many people of ALL races who 'move on up' bring their 'ghetto ways' with them. I wonder the same about White people who move into nicer neighborhoods and sit on the porch drinking beer and spitting tobacco at anything that passes. Also, to be honest, I've always thought it was White people who feel they own everything, ESPECIALLY walkways, etc. and will walk out in front of your car when you're 2 feet away from them. It seems everywhere I go I have White people walking in front of my bumper...at the supermarket, at the mall, on campus, everywhere. You all also tend to walk in the middle of aisles, making it extremely difficult to get anywhere. Oh! And you don't move because you 'own' EVERYTHING!!! I can tell you it gets very frustrating at times.

I've worked in the casino business for 4 years and it's pretty descent money. I can tell you those people act no better. Plus, in a casino, some guests think EVERYTHING (EVERYONE?) is for sale. Though I don't have a Mensa IQ (a pretty respectable 136) I say it is just ignorance on their part. Try responding to their comments in 'big words' they don't understand...and with a smile on your face. You'd be surprised how quickly they leave because they haven't a clue as to what you said to them and don't know how to respond (not knowing if they've been insulted or what). This will get them almost every time and next time they enter the store they will cut the chit chat!

Amen! Someone else noticed this, too! I thought I was the only person who noticed that, while it seems okay and sometimes is perceived as a status symbol (black men dating white women), it is definately NOT okay in our culture for black women to date white men. Personally, I'm going to go for whoever treats me the best and to all my Sisters...if you happen to find your soul mate OUTSIDE our race then go for yours!!! Be happy! And to HELL what anyone else thinks because we all (all men and women) deserve to find love and happiness. I have black male friends who see nothing wrong with dating white women but came down hard on me when me a white male co-worker go too close...and only as friends because this man was married. However, were I to fall in love with a single white man, I would put as much passion into the relationship as I would any other and pray for the best.

Boy is this question going to spark controversy. Speaking for myself, Bill, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I don't have children yet but I do have enough sense to know that just because someone is gay, it doen't make them a pedophile.

Try micro-dermabrasion. There is also the television product Derm & Peel, which works pretty well at a fraction of the cost.

Sherre. You do know discrimination is illegal? Also...did you ever think they experience the same feelings and confusion from trying to figure out what it is you're saying? It's just as hard on their end and they have the added hassle of dealing with people like you who probably tend to get an attitude because you're frustrated with the whole situation.

Faces of all ethnicities are beautiful. Shame on you Jay to lie and say black women don't like white women! I'm a black woman and I love everyone.

Thou shalt not kill, David. First, I don't believe homosexuality has anything to do with genetics. I know straight people with one or more homosexual parents. Next, I just don't believe in abortions, so even if homosexuality was genetic, I believe that child has a right to life. It has the right to choice. And who in the world loves their child less just because they're gay? Love is unconditional.

I'm black and have never noticed this kind of thing. I don't know any black people who do this. This woman is a lone female who obviously has issues of her own, and it has nothing to do with my race as a whole.

I've often wondered the same about white people. I'm the opposite of a litter bug and can never understand why white people feel the world is their personal ash tray. Any ideas?
