I used to be a female and am now male. Gender does not dictate who you are attracted to. If that were the case, every guy would be attracted to girls and vice versa. So we transsexuals are attracted to whoever we were attracted to before the sex change. If she was a gay man, she is now a straight woman. If she was a straight man, she is now a lesbian. Some people have claimed to me that hormones ‘turned them gay’ – that is, they were attracted to one sex and after their sex change they ‘mysteriously’ changed sexuality. But usually this means they were sexually confused to begin with.

Protection doesn’t necessarily mean condoms. You can use rubber gloves for ‘finger sex,’ you can use dental dams for oral sex, and you can put condoms on sex toys. Of course, I know very few people, whether gay, straight or lesbian, who use condoms for the kind of sex lesbians usually engage in. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible or unheard of.

That’s probably a ploy to get you into bed. ‘Yeah, if you’re not f**king me, you’re a lesbian. How do you like that, huh? Huh?’ Obviously they are too stupid to remember that you actually went out with them in the first place.

I used to be a Catholic, and although I live in Wisconsin (which has a high Catholic population, at least where I lived), there were a lot of anti-Catholic things said. Usually they were friendly jousts by Protestants, although I know in other places it gets violent. The things they say kind of tell us why, though. ‘Idol worshiper’ was one of them, as well as references to Saints and Mary. Although the Catholic interpretation of this is -not- idol worship, it is usually twisted into that by Protestants. Another thing is the whole priest=child molester thing, which is projected from the corrupt clergy onto the non-corrupt clergy and people.

A witch is anybody who practices witchcraft. It’s not a religion, so there really are no ‘beliefs.’ I’m a witch who believes that all gods are real and only worships a few, some are Christians, some are Wiccans who believe in a God and Goddess, there are witches who are Jews, there are even witches who are Muslims. So there really isn’t anything that witches believe in ‘exactly,’ because it depends on the witch.

Wiccans are witches, by training. ‘Real’ Wiccans don’t dabble in witchcraft, they are trained in and seriously practice it. Wiccans as -we- know them usually dabble in or practice witchcraft. Some Wiccans believe in extreme good and extreme evil, and cast circles (protective/conservative energy bubbles) to ‘keep the evil spirits out’ as their Rede poem says. Most of them only use magic for ‘good,’ as they see it, and don’t always think through the effects of them. Nobody is ever 100% safe when practicing witchcraft, especially since quite a bit of it is done ‘in the heat of passion’ so to speak, they need something and try to get it without thinking it through. Even if, as one person said, witchcraft does absolutely -nothing,- it can become addictive to weak-willed or self-conscious people, who (after a spell works or is believed to have worked) suddenly don’t feel like they can do -anything- without a spell. So I guess it depends on what you mean by ‘danger.’

I don’t know about American Indians, but for the Maori in New Zealand (where they have the ‘ta-moko,’ which are the tattoos covering the thighs, face, and shoulders) it is offensive to many for people to get them. Usually it’s not because they are white, but (like you said) because they don’t know the meaning behind them. A moko takes serious planning, it is extremely personalized, and just copying the design doesn’t cut it. People don’t know the meanings. I think it’s essentially the same thing, copying something with no knowledge of any of the meaning behind it. Although some Maori (one, don’t know his name, he was a government official in NZ) was thrilled that non-Maori people were getting it done, it brought ‘publicity’ and awareness to the idea. I think the whole split would be around the same with American Indians.

‘The Devil’ is any god that is not Yahweh. By this note, you -are- worshiping the devil. Some Christians take this thought process, which really isn’t so bad. In that aspect, ‘devil’ is just a name, it’s a title. Some of us, like myself, even choose to use it as such. But if they assume you are literally worshiping some dude with horns who pesters the Christian God, it’s usually just a misunderstanding that can be straightened out with some old-fashioned education.

There is a Jewish ethnicity, not a ‘race’ in the ‘three big ones’ sense of the word, but they do tend to have different physical characteristics. Jews originated in a certain area, so it would make sense they carry those characteristics. Of course, not every person who ‘looks Jewish’ practices the religion, they may have converted, but they still are considered Jewish due to ethnicity. Conversely, there are people who practice Judaism that come from non-Hebrew backgrounds.

I am a polytheist. You said that polytheism is illogical… but how is it any less logical than monotheism is? Both involve putting faith in something you cannot see, feel, or sense with your earthly body. Neither is really ‘better’ than the other as far as this goes, because monotheists generally believe in one all-powerful god, and polytheists believe in many gods who have power over specific things but not everything. It depends on whether you see the nature of god/s as being all-powerful or semi-powerful, an all-powerful god doesn’t need ‘buddies,’ a god that can’t do everything himself does.

Chivalry isn’t exactly ‘dead,’ it’s just changed. I’m not personally going to sit there and hold the door open for a girl just because she’s a girl, I’ll hand the door over to a person just because they are there and it’s easier for them. A girl complaining about somebody not giving up their seat is just snotty, really.

They do deserve the same rights, but people fear and try to supress what they do not understand. Part of the fear is that parents think a Wiccan Club will make more Wiccans. Actually, this can be true if a student hasn’t heard of Wicca before or was interested in it and didn’t know it, but the same is true for any other clubs. Of course, I go to UW Oshkosh… we have Obsidian Englightenment (snickers)

Eggs are parve, meaning they can be mixed with any other Kosher food and still be Kosher. I’m fairly sure that includes chicken.

I admit, I heard of this on ‘The Nanny,’ but the attitude shown very much looked like motherly nagging. Of course, it’s a show intended for entertainment, so it’s not a high authority by any means.

People are often convinced that their way is the one and only way. Some genuinely are trying to prevent people from eternal suffering (if they believe in Hell) or just trying to turn people toward the ‘right’ path, and the effective way for them is to convince the other people that their religion is worthless (which is a beef I have with missionaries, trying to convince a culture that they are stupid for believing in what they do!). Some are jerks for essentially the same reason without the good will involved, they actually -believe- people are stupid for it and are vocal about it.
