Cursing is what stupid people do when they don’t have the vocabulary to express themselves using real words. Plenty of dissenters from Martin Luther to Noam Chomsky have managed to demonstrate free speech without resorting to crude vulgarity. The challenge for teachers is to create students who can express themselves using acceptable language. Cursing in and of itself is not free speech. Free speech is the dissemination of ideas.

Is “White African”, “Anglo-African” if they’re British… I think I’ve heard Charlize Theron refer to herself as South African-American. But I do agree that those of us who were born here need to knock off all the attempts at splintering into separate groups. There’s more than enough confusion with all the various immigrant groups coming in. Thankfully intermarriage and multi-racial offspring will eventually blur the race lines to where we can all stop obsessing about it.

I work in one of those careers where you’re either employed, stressed out beyond belief, working 12-18 hours a day but making a ton of money… Or you’re unemployed and freaking out wondering when the next job is coming. Poverty is a lot easier for people without kids. Once you’re a parent it’s terrifying to lose your health coverage.

Hollywood pats itself on the back for matching an early 40’s Diane lane with a nearly 60 Richard Gere. Studio execs refer to any actress over 35 as “age-appropriate” for any actor of any age. No one in these meetings even balks when a Clint Eastwood or a Harrison Ford hooks up onscreen with a woman in her 30’s. Of course “real” men think this the way it should be. NOTE: You rarely see successful, self-made younger women falling for these older guys. It’s about money and power, so make your own.

One can be whip smart at 18 but not truly mature. There’s a difference. Living and struggling, by definition, molds a person into a more aware individual. It doesn’t mean the young are stupid, just that they aren’t very experienced.

Most religions have taken a turn toward the hateful during the past 25-50 years. Islam was never such a political force as it is now. The creation of Israel has caused some Jews to wrap themselves in Biblical text to justify political actions. Some Christians have become extreme since the advent of people like Atwater and Rove in their midsts, stirring up hatred as a way to get them to the polls.

And in fact have a cousin living there. Sadly, the introduction of Sarah Palin to the rest of the country, and the seeming re-election of seven-time convicted felon Ted Stevens has caused me to believe that Alaska is a deeply screwed up place. It makes me sad.

I’m sure you were asking foreign nationals your question but as an American who has lived and traveled abroad… Have you SEEN the way some Americans behave while on vacation? It’s embarrassing. They’re loud, they are fat and do dress badly. They complain about everything and expect special treatment. Sadly, WE have created this perception that we’re morons. Our foreign policy that preaches a doctrine of “American Exceptionalism” hasn’t helped.

I see from your young age that maybe you haven’t experienced much yet in life. However, what a boring, missionary position, vanilla sex life we would all have if it weren’t for the quirks and experimentation that keeps things hot year after year. I’m a woman who likes to watch male oriented gay porn. What kind of freak does that make me? FYI, my man doesn’t like porn at all, of any kind.

It is more likely you’ll see a woman from a conservative culture wearing traditional dress than one from a more liberal place. Not just short skirts and belly shirts, some cultures find women in pants to be offensive. And, of course these are the same cultures wherein a woman’s virtue is more valued than a man’s. Hence, the women are made to maintain standards from the old country while the men are free to wear whatever they want.

The Puritans did NOT found a nation, they only created settlements. The country was founded by people like Thomas Jefferson who foresaw the threat of theocracy and went to great extremes to keep religion out of government. Only since Lee Atwater has religion been used as a political weapon the way it is now. This is why it’s important for rational people to vote. Also, don’t judge all Christians by the crazy, extremist, Tim McVeigh/Sarah Palin variety. Most Christians are normal, functional people who don’t want to intrude on your life and beliefs.

In eastern cities with good public transport people of all income levels can use it. Here in Los Angeles, which has almost no public transportation to speak of, only the poor take the buses (which are late, crowded, dangerous and unreliable).

I’ve noticed this with my father when he’s not wearing glasses. With the glasses he’s fine. Without them he has to stare and stare in order to see even simple things.

Too many poorer inner city folks (of all races, but largely black and brown) have been raised to be believe it’s a sell out to speak properly. Add to that the current hysteria in support of “cultural diversity” and you’re left with huge populations of people who can’t or won’t learn to speak English. I live between two large immigrant populations. The Asians ALL learn to speak English. The Latinos are being actively discouraged to speak English by open borders activists. I don’t think anyone really knows what they hope to achieve. The current situation is Babel. So perhaps chaos is the goal.

You may come to enjoy sex as time goes on, or maybe you won’t. I know several persons who identify as “asexual”. They have friends and in one case a live in domestic partner (strictly platonic), but they don’t care to have sex. These people have a lot of time and energy to put into their careers and hobbies and in one case have even adopted a child. There’s nothing wrong with not wanting sex.
