White people do know how to dance, just not to black music. It used to be that whites were taught at a young age to dance to folk music, but not anymore, so we try to act black to fit in on the dance floor. If you go to a country dance, you’ll see many whites looking at you wondering if you could dance to this music.

Why not polygamy then? I haven’t talked to a single lesbian who approves of this. People should look at their own level of tolerance when judging the mating decisions of consenting adults. I wouldn’t choose to be a lesbian or a polygamist, but if one alternative is allowed, then so should the other.

It is a racial slur. I have been called that before too. Don’t put up with it. Tell the racist he is a racist and if you are expected to not use slurs against him he shouldn’t use them against you.

Miss Anne or Miss Amy is the same as Aunt jemima. It is a racial insult.

I always wondered the same about white people in America. Society doesn’t encourge whites to get in touch with their European roots. Kids without pride in their heritage find other more negative ways to express themselves. To answer your question, kids in general aren’t interested in heritage because they are kids and they adopt pop culture instead.

You are making excuses for the racism of people who are not white. You are justifying it and giving it an acceptable excuse. I have known many white racists who were such because they were victimized in some way.

You are a nice person. I have gotten much ruder comments and I did feel afraid. I had one experience where I politely rejected the advance and the man said ‘what’s the matter, you a racist?’ Did he expect me to feel guily and intimidated into accepting his advances? I said ‘no you are being rude and I’m not interested.’ The guy followed me for a few blocks and I was scared. Black women deal with unwanted attention by being sassy. You are a white woman and shouldn’t be expected to respond the way black women do. Keep up what you are doing.

When a white says’articulate black’ it means simply that the black speaks his language. Whites don’t understand ebonics very well, it is like a foreign language. Why is it assumed that the white man is being a racist? He would tell anyone who speaks a different language that they speak English well. But he hasn’t recognized ebonics as a language. Why do people assume those with a southern accent are uneducated and inarticulate? maybe its because they speak with such an accent it is hard for the non-southerners to understand it.

What’s up with that sarcastic ‘Euro Americans’ comment? People are always looking for an opportunity to bash whites and if the reverse happened it would be called racism. Well it is racism. Is good race relations contingent on transferring acceptable racism to white people? I object. Beating up on white people incessantly will not end racism. It perpetuates the cycle.

No offense, but John Rocker did not make racist comments. he left middle America and walked into an alien city. He mentioned no one spoke English, welfare moms and even Russians. Ruissians are white. This wasn’t a racial statement, it was the truth as he saw it. That isn’t the America he grew up in. He was a victim of culture shock, and so would any person of any race who saw for the first time what he did. Give him a break.

I used to be a racist and I always thought black women were the friendliest, even those at the Greyhound Bus terminal. If you are friendly with the sisters, they are friendly to you.

Racism is about power, and racists don’t have any either. Please don’t, no matter how compelling their arguments seem, join this group! There is always a thread of truth to what they say, but don’t fall for it. I am a former racist and their ideology turned my heart black. Some anti-Jewish groups do accept blacks into their ranks. I am pro Palestinian also and I know how hard it is when you try to resist what these people say when you agree with some of it. Don’t get pulled in, it will end up consuming you and it will ruin your relationships with those you love. It is true there was Jewish involvement with the slave trade, but you’d be hard pressed to find any ethnicity in the world who didn’t participate in enslaving other human beings. I want you to look at all the Jewish people who opposed slavery and those brave souls who try to help the Pelstinian people. I don’t want to be singled out as a member of the ‘evil’ race and I resent it. So do Jews.

Uneducated white people are not thought of as ‘articulate’ and neither are white people who speakEnglish as a second language. Ebonics is hard to understand for most. Why make everything into a racial issue to blame whites for?

Yes blacks do have a history of oppression and violence against others based on differences. Different black tribes. Whites enslaved other whites and blacks enslaved other blacks. There is no excuse anymore for racial revenge. It is time now to stop scapegoating and seeking revenge for past wrongs. Yes whites do have to live with negative sterotypes, every day. We are supposed to be the only race who can hate, the only race who engaged in slavery and the only race who has done anything wrong in all of history. Whites are identified as having only done bad things in history excluding all the good we did and are still doing. Everyone has their bad and good. Lets look at the good instead of continuing this cycle of hatred and racial retribution. For instance we can see that whites ended slavery, a global practice, instead of beating up on little white kids because 400 years ago one of their ancestors MIGHT have owned a slave.

If when older white people say negro and it considered a slur when it wasn’t intended that way, why do others get away with it? Why make excuses? Why poie fun at the ‘old white racists’ when their intentions were not bad at all? Gringo may be used the way you say, but I can assure you that when you are called gringo in some parts of LA they mean ‘foreigner’ who should leave the l;and they used to live on before white people came.
