Ava: If God intended for reproduction to be the key element in defining which type of sexual relationships are 'moral,' then God really screwed up by making the ones who CAN reproduce the morally acceptable ones. Excess reproduction by these same 'moral' people is what has messed up the earth that God supposedly gave us to take care of in the first place. People who take this moralistic stance based on 'natural' reproduction have a superiority complex based on their species, because they have nothing else to feel superior about.

There are many men who think large breasts are a turnoff. My father is one. He prefers women with the bodies of 12-year-old boys - flat -chested and anorexic.

I think with the steady increase of 'dysfunctional' families in Western culture, fewer of us have any feeling of loyalty or debt to our parents. There is an increase in parents who don't really do any parenting - and it's awfully idealistic and naive to assume that I consider giving birth to a child (essentially having unprotected sex) such a huge accomplishment that I will forever revere and take care of parents who didn't take care of me. Also, in many Eastern cultures, the predominant religions (such as Shinto, in Japan) revolve around ancestor worship, which certainly influences the way you take care of your parents.

I've grown up in Texas, and though I don't intend to spend the rest of my life here, I don't consider this state the top of the bigotry and ignorance chain. My mother is from Long Island, N.Y., and there is more racism and bigotry there than I have ever encountered in Texas. However, I agree about the general South - that's why states like Louisiana score so low on tests in the secondary schools - because students are being educated by uneducated people. After a variety of experiences, I am led to believe that Texas should be separated from this nonsensical notion of 'the South,' because other than a few jerks (and every geographic area has those, even the Midwest), the general attitude in Texas is live and let live.

In my experience, anyone who does not drive the way you drive is a 'bad driver.' That means, according to each one of us, everyone else is a bad driver! What are the odds? Individual ego is getting in the way of better judgment. I hesitate to criticize other people's driving because I feel my own skills leave a lot to be desired. However, I, too, am intrigued by the way many people, particularly guys, push their seat all the way back and then hunch forward, hanging on to the steering wheel for balance. This looks like it would hurt. So I'm extremely curious about that, and hope you receive responses explaining that phenomenon.

I studied female circumcision in a sociology class, and though the more severe forms are illegal in most places, it is still performed. Each of the types of female circumcision revolves around a theme of traditional purity. The most extreme female circumcision involves the complete removal of the clitoris and labia and the sewing shut of the vagina. It takes away sexual stimulation from the woman, thereby maintaining her 'purity.' Ironically, it promotes infection - and therefore is filthy rather than pure. When the vaginal canal is sewn shut, the bladder cannot relieve itself normally. When a fully circumcised woman needs to urinate, it simply dribbles out - and not all of it comes out - which causes extensive bacteria growth.

Taking away sexual stimulation and promoting infection in women is a way for the men of such cultures to remain in power, although in most cases the women are the ones who advocate the surgery. This is because women who perform and advocate such practices are given more power by the men than those who don't.

The media centers on white men and has successfully convinced them (generally) that the perfect mate consists of a paper-doll thin, walking Barbie doll. That's why they go for the anorexic women - they've been sucked voraciously into a false image of beauty. Check out a copy of Playboy sometime, and see if you don't see what I mean. Don't just look at the centerfold; read the articles, look at the pictures of Hugh Hefner, read the interviews - the Barbie element is evident in all of these.

My personal attractions are not bound by gender, culture, and color lines, but let me make some generalizations about others to answer your question. In today's society, the media sells 'skinny' as beautiful in white women, and 'big butts with some meat on her bones' as beautiful in black women. In my experience, black culture is much more accepting of different body types - other than people with flat butts, anyway - whereas the majority of white males are easily brainwashed and get sucked into the 'Barbie' image. There are very few women that look like that, of any race! My point is, the media centers on the white male, so that the white male buys into the media's brainwashing more than anyone else - in which case, white males are much more likely than anyone else to be looking for an anorexic paper doll in a mate, and anorexia is generally more predominant in white girls. Since, as I said before, black culture is generally more accepting of different body types, black men are more likely to find beauty in all different skin colors - which, of course, there is.

I become equally irritated when anyone of any color uses incorrect grammar - and I speak up about it, too.

There is definitely an equal proportion of the races when it comes to walking out in front of cars. Why? Because almost every person, regardless of age, race, or creed, that attends my university walks out into the middle of traffic without a thought (provided it's on campus traffic). It has to do with a lot of things - one, we're all studying for degrees and have other things on our minds, and are generally spaced out because of it - two, college students are often still at an age where they subconciously percieve themselves as being invincible. Anytime someone visits our university who is unfamiliar with us, although it really is frightening, I have to laugh when I see them suddenly have to screech the brakes to avoid some college kid - and I laugh even harder when the kid doesn't even notice the screeching brakes (or the possible obscenities shouted out the window).

Jennifer: You would rather that an animal be mistreated, abused, or put to sleep than going against your self righteous principles and 'owning' an animal? I don't own my dog - it's more like he owns me. I adopted him when he was abandoned at 1 month old, and he is my child and my mentor. Yes, I think all species are essentially equal, and that a human cannot own another species any more than a human can own another human. But can we take care of one another, regardless of species lines? You bet we can. So I take care of him and he takes care of me - therefore, by society's current standards (which seem to matter far more to you than they do to me) I 'own' a pet.

Women, whether through evolution or environment, tend to be more attracted to intellect, security, and emotions than physicality. Although I might glance at a man and think he's great looking, I am not aroused in the slightest (whether he makes a pass at me or not) until I discover he's intelligent.

I have seen precious few truly natural blondes past puberty; many children are born with pure blonde hair, but few adults maintain that color naturally. It's very beautiful when hair is completely naturally blonde - it's also very beautiful when it has darkened with age. What is not beautiful, and what symbolizes the materialistic, money grubbing, shallow, self-centered stereotype that we think of when we think of 'dumb blonde' is bleached blonde hair - and a lot of people have that. Those same people often have many other fake/shallow things about them - cosmetic surgery, designer clothes, lots of hairspray and makeup - all leading to the materialistic, airheaded stereotype.

Unfortunately, in our country a large percentage of the lower-income bracket consists of minorities, particularly ethnic minorities. Attitudes toward animals, children and spouses have little to do with 'race' - they have to do with income class. Lower-income families sometimes feel like they are at the 'bottom of the barrel,' and when you're at the bottom of the barrel, it seems that you have no power or control over anything - even your own life and family. So, in the lower-income bracket, a larger percentage of people abuse their children, spouses and animals - because they feel the need to control and have power over something. When animals are abused, they are likely to become vicious. When you have grown up with dogs such as that, your experience dictates that 'all dogs are vicious.' As far as some of them being obviously friendly - mistreated animals also are likely to appear friendly until they snap and turn on their owners. So fear of animals is caused by constantly being around people who abuse their animals, which often happens in lower-income families - of which a high percentage is African American.

Did you know that dog's saliva is cleaner than our own? Their saliva is anti-bacterial, and it has to be, in order to combat the viruses and bacteria that they encounter everyday in the low grade foods human feed them. So, when a dog licks you, that portion of your skin is probably cleaner than it has ever been before.
