But he couldn’t “finish” because he said it was just too creepy.

Most men like to see a woman hobbling around, not in complete physical control of herself atop a pair of high heels. It’s a carry down from Chinese foot binding and all the same principals apply. Heels or bound feet force women to walk with their butts sticking out, it allegedly tightens the vaginal muscles and, most obviously, puts women in the position where they need to rely on a man. Within the litany of painful and dangerous things women do to appeal to mean, this is mild. As my friend says, “do guys have any idea how much work it takes to look ‘natural”?

I have a relative who is a total basket case all the time. Her relationships would be much better if she COULD learn to suppress some of her overt emotion. So I think there’s a fine line between Vulcan and out of control that we all need to learn to walk. It’s also cultural. Some cultures accept hysteria as enthusiasm (wailing at funerals, uvulating at weddings, etc.) while others find it frightening and consider it mental illness to behave this way.

Most people can’t afford the “traditional” married with children template anymore. They know that to make those commitments will guarantee a life of financial struggle. Back in the days of job security, assured healthcare and pension, decent public schools, affordable college tuition one didn’t have to make such huge sacrifices in order to live a family life. My local paper just did a study that showed it costs 127K per year in our city for a family of four to live a “middle class” life. Granted this is an expensive city bit things are tight all over. No wonder the birthrate is falling dramatically amongst the educated classes.

In general more attractive people tend to be more successful, however, I have noticed as I’ve gotten older that I am taken more seriously in my profession. It might affect women more than men but looking back I think being too cute probably made things more difficult for me at times. Socially speaking it’s somewhat the same in that when a man likes the way a woman looks he will rarely delve much deeper into her psyche to find out if he likes her personality. Men also expect that a pretty woman is a more passive, sexually available and less challenging partner. There are many advantages to outgrowing that hot phase.

So I guess for the guy it depends on whether they want more enthusiasm and athleticism or a “plusher” vagina. Some guys like heavier girls, some don’t.

My area is full of young people whose parents risked life and limb to get to the US, work illegally and have children who are US citizens. Now that those anchor babies are teens and young adults they do nothing but bitch about this country. I would ask them the same question, “would you rather be living in Mexico?”. But to do so is considered racist. They don’t seem to acknowledge that many of Mexico’s problems are due to the corruption of the Mexican government and not every ill in the world was caused by the United States, the country that gave them their free education, standard of living, et al.

And NO my children are not considered Jewish by the more hardline Orthodoxy of the faith. Thankfully most Reform Jews are less bigoted about these things. As an African-American it may interest you to know that Michelle Obama has a cousin who is a rabbi.

Even Israelis now are realizing that Zionism, not Judaism is the cause of a lot of the trouble. There are organizations inside Israel that lobby against the behavior of their nation. If only Americans were so motivated.

Jews represent one of the most successful minorities in my city. They are disproportionately represented in my professional field and kissed up to more than discriminated against. So it probably depends on where you’re living. Here there is certainly no widespread discrimination against Jews (Mel Gibson notwithstanding).

And bitching that you can’t afford to raise a family or have a decent life on minimum wage. Some jobs aren’t meant to be careers. They are for students, part timers and the elderly to make a few extra bucks. If you want to earn a real living, you will need some form of higher education, and you can’t even get into vocational training without a GED. Why set your goals so low? It’s sad.

Whereas if you have a decent career going, you could get a mate at any point in life. Ergo, women who don’t pair up prior to 40 often end up alone. So we have to be more decisive about these things. Also, any woman who wants children will want to find a responsible parenting partner before she’s 35 or so.

Most gays people don’t care what you think. It’s only when you start agitating and passing laws against them that they get righteously pissed. And, what is their “lifestyle choice”? My gay friends range from unattached young party boys to middle-aged, married lesbians with children. There is no one “gay lifestyle”.

They are trying to control the “souls” of people and mistakenly believe that preaching will get the job done. How can they ignore the obvious? How many weekends in a row have the same Jehovah’s Witnesses ignored the mezzuzah on my front door in an attempt the “save” me? Religion makes people insane, period.
