NikParticipantYes, black people get dandruff like everyone else. I’m black and I don’t have a dandruff problem, but when I’ve noticed flakes, they were light beige in color. Against black clothing, they look white.

NikParticipantWhen I see women with pierced tongues, I assume they are promiscuous. When I see men with pierced tongues, I assume they are promiscuous and homosexual.

NikParticipantI trot, and I’m neither white nor over 25. I do it to show the driver that I’m not taking his courtesy for granted. Amusingly, my boyfriend is white and 27, and he crosses at a snail’s pace under the same circumstances, because he hates cars and considers it his little act of rebellion. I find myself dragging him sometimes.

NikParticipantAll of the movies you mentioned were directed (and funded) by white men. So despite blacks being cast, I would say that those three movies may more accurately be described as examples of white males making fun of themselves. But in response to your question, I don’t think it’s OK to mock white people. However, in modern American society, mockery of minorities is considered off-limits. I think white people are mocked simply because a) comics need to mock someone but cannot mock minorities without being labeled racist, and b) white people have not been very vocal in protesting racist jokes against whites. Maybe a letter-writing campaign would help?

NikParticipantI met a White woman named ‘Ashanti’ once. I thought it was pretty strange and I assumed her parents were hippies, but I wasn’t offended at all.

NikParticipantI do not think Asian faces are ugly at all, and it saddens me that you feel this way. I’ve seen Chinese women get plastic surgery to remove their ethnic features, and the end result was not that they were more beautiful … it’s that they looked more generic. I’m sure they were happy with their new ‘european’ features, but I wish they could have seen how beautiful and distinctive they were originally.

NikParticipantI’m sorry to break the news to you, but I care and so do most of the other women I’ve known. When I see a guy who’s losing his hair, he stops being a ‘guy’ in my mind and starts being a ‘BALD guy.’ There are some exceptions (like actor Ed Harris who is a hot bald guy), but you’d need a remarkably attractive face to pull it off. My advice: start using the Rogaine, pronto.

NikParticipantIt’s not offensive at all, but I’ve noticed that white people are reluctant to identify others by race (any race … not just black) in my presence. An example… White Person: ‘You know that guy who works at the record store? The tall guy?’ Me: ‘You mean the one with the red hair?’ White Person: ‘No his hair is dark and kinda short.’ Me: You mean the guy who dropped the boxes?’ White Person: ‘No … the one who always wears the red belt.’ Me: ‘You mean the black guy?’ White Person: ‘Yeah, him.’ Oh please! As if he didn’t notice the guy was black until I brought it up? It’s so silly. Anybody who takes offense is just being too sensitive.

NikParticipantI would not reject a guy because he was hairy, but I prefer hairless guys. My boyfriend is hairy and I adore him, but (not to be graphic) when I attempt to lick his body, his hair sheds in my mouth. It takes forever to remove those tiny, fine hairs when they stick to the back of the roof of your mouth. I’d never tell him this though.
