The fact is, there is no cohesive agreement as to what 'Goth' fashion represents or portrays. It is merely a style of fashion and people attribute philosophical features to it almost arbitrarily. Wear whatever you want, just tell your parents 'It's the same as wearing red, white or any other colous. It doesn't intrinsically mean anything, so stop being so close-minded and support (or at least tolerate) my new-found fashion sense!'

It's possibly due to the fact that you are using all the spatial and problem solving areas of you brain. This is an area where men excel and perhaps the combination of something so fundamentally 'manly' with sex increases the pleasure. Obviously this is just conjecture, but i think it's reasonable.

I disagree. I think hair on arms looks terrible on women. This is just going to be a matter of opinion, probably better resolved by census to see the actual levels of preference.

in reply to: Why don’t teens cherish virginity? #15109
Anna, opinions surrounding the virtues of chastity are almost exclusively Religious. Christians find it a faith issue and have different opinions to other people, obviously. As a Taoist, virginity actually has no particular place in my religion, and i cannot make moral judgements around it based upon my beliefs. To me, when i first had sex was irrelevant, like the first time i ate chilli. It is part of my natural life and an enjoyable experience and therefore i just don't give it as much attention as you have been taught to.

Not at all! Glenda, these companies are just offering a service to a modern society that is more diverse and multicultural than it was in the past. If you lived in France, wouldn't it be useful to have the option to undertake operations in English? I lived in Spain last year, and for the first few months where my Spanish was shaky it was cetainly useful to have English options. Remember, there is a big difference between being functional with a language and being fluent, and it is particularly difficult to communicate by phone because you cannot benefit from the person's mouth movements. These people may be able to get by with English, but rapid-fire telephone English is another thing altogether. Instead of being offended that there are different language options, be happy that your country is blessed with a range of cultures! And anyway, English is still language number 1, there are some countries that put their native language behind English as it is the lingua Franca, so at least be happy in that respect.

The fact is that competition is a large part of the male psyche, while relationships have a large amount of importance given to them in the case of females. As such, men will generally respect other men that are sexually promiscuous as it shows their sexual dominance and prowess. Women, on the other hand, see other women that sleep with multiple partners as incapable of forming meaningful relationships, and therefore ridicule and abuse them. Also, any man that calls a girl with lots of sexual partners a 'Ho' is probably just jealous because she hasn't approached him. Plenty of guys like girls that sleep around, me included.
