SE68: I was watching some gay porn the other day and a lot of the anal sex just looked so uncomfortable. Are there any gay men who find anal sex uncomfortable and not really a turn-on?

THE QUESTION:
SE66: To pregnant women and nursing mothers: Do you ever suckle your significant others (husbands, boyfriends, etc.)?
POSTED APRIL 8, 1999
V. Morris <lefeuvre@ndirect.co.uk>, London UK

ANSWER 1:
I nursed my children (now 25 and 28) and yes, my husband “nursed” as well. We both found it pleasurable and, well, titillating (pardon the pun).

Priscylla, female, WI

FURTHER NOTICE:
Are you serious? Any grown man who would want to nurse like an infant obviously has issues. I would run, not walk, away from that relationship.
POSTED APRIL 13, 1999
R.G., pregnant mother of two, Richmond, VA

FURTHER NOTICE 2:
The type of stimulation to the breast from an infant is quite different from the sexual stimulation of a man sucking a woman’s breast. There is a particular technique necessary for the child to draw milk from the breast. That is not to say that a man cannot extract milk while stimulating the breast, but consistent flow requires a technique, that at least in my experience, was not remotely sexual. Nursing may be sensual at best, but suckling did not elicit sexual pleasure for me. Some men are sexually aroused by their mate’s milk. Others are turned off. I nursed my youngest child 2 1/2 yrs. Her father intially was amused by occasionally drawing milk from my breast. But the novelty wore off. Besides, when he did draw milk it was not intentional. His primary concern was deriving pleasure during love-making and giving pleasure to me. Prolonged nursing can reduce sensation in the breasts. This was my experience. I found that I needed extended, greater stimulation to experience arousal in this area. When I stopped nursing, I did not fully regain the sensitivity in the region that I had known prior to nursing. However, an attentive lover can still give me pleasure here, provided he is open to different degrees of stimulation focused in this area.

FURTHER NOTICE 3:
To R.G.: Lighten up. Many adult males (and females, I might add) are curious about breast milk. I tasted it once. It is sweet and warm, and that is all I needed to know. I will probably never put it in my coffee. I am more interested in your reaction. Try being a little less severe in your judgments. Live a little. You might enjoy it.

FURTHER NOTICE 4:
To R.G: A grown man who wants to suckle his partner’s breasts does not necessarily have “issues.” My husband regularly sucks my nipples for the sexual stimulation, and that turns me on as well. We don’t have children right now, but we when we do, my husband won’t stop suckling because our child is also suckling.

THE QUESTION:
SE65: Am I unusual as a woman because I don’t particularly enjoy masturbation? I was celibate for a long time (not my choice) and did it then out of necessity. That was OK. But now I’m married and have no urge to masturbate.

POSTED MARCH 23, 1999
N.W., female, New York City metro area , NY

ANSWER 1:
Finally! I thought I was the only woman out there who didn’t enjoy masturbation. I’ve often talked about the subject with my friends, male and female, and the consensus seems to be that I’m either lying (about not enjoying it) or am doing something wrong (technique). I have tried many different ways of masturbating, with and without the aid of a vibrator, dildo or man, and nothing seems to bring any kind of pleasure. So you are not alone.

THE QUESTION:
SE64: Would it bother a man if he found a copy of Playgirl at his girlfriend’s house and she told him she used it to fantasize and masturbate? In college, most guys had some form of porn in their house, yet would get really offended when finding even a half-naked picture of a man lying around my place. It seems to me that although men love porn, they can’t handle women lusting after men as sex objects (especially when the men have big penises and beautiful bodies). I think most men suffer from this “dish it out but can’t take it” syndrome. Any views on this?
POSTED MARCH 18, 1999
Janice, 32, female, Detroit , MI

ANSWER 1:
It certainly never would have bothered me, but I was never one to hang up pictures of naked women in the first place. I can see that it would be a little confusing: Women have consistently told men they are wrong to objectify women sexually, so seeing a woman do the same thing with men would look hypocritical. But why should it matter? If a woman wants to look at naked men, all power to her.

THE QUESTION:
SE63: Do men who have female significant others masturbate less than men who are single?
POSTED FEB. 10, 1999
Tim M., male, San Diego, CA

ANSWER 1:
I think that depends on the woman’s ability to take care of the man’s sexual needs.

FURTHER NOTICE:
According to our human sexuality class, no. Through personal experience, though, I think there is a small difference.

THE QUESTION:
SE62: How often is pubic hair color the same as head hair color? Do red-haired people always have red pubic hair, and blond-haired people always have blond pubic hair?

POSTED FEB. 10, 1999
Step, WA

ANSWER 1:

It’s not always the same color (though it often is) and almost never the same texture. It’s kind of like men’s beards – some people will have straight red hair, and curly black pubes and beards, some will be black or blonde all over.

THE QUESTION:
SE61: My girlfriend says that each orgasm she has actually is a multiple wave of orgasms. She says she has five to 10 orgasms when we have sex. Is it really possible for a woman to have upward of 40 orgasms in one session?
POSTED FEB. 5, 1999
Don Juan, male, San Diego, CA

ANSWER 1:
It is very possible to have 40 orgasms during one intercourse session. Each orgasm is a series of 5 to 8 contractions (each not being a distinct orgasm). Women have little to no refraction time, so it is possible to go through the four stages of sexual arousal very quickly to achieve another orgasm. The record (according to Masters and Johnson) is 50 in one day, and that was by a woman performing autoeroticism (masturbation).
