I've heard all the talk about how women shave for cleanliness from being married (my wife doesn't shave). I've even heard some women say they shave because theer men like it. Personally I think guys who like or prefer women with shaved tooties are just child molesters/pedophiles at heart...why else would a guy want a woman with pubes that look pre-pubescent?

This is a comment on those who feel they can appropriate another people's culture without permission. We indigenous Native people have been victims of cultural theft by everyone and their brother who feels that after seeing one Indian ceremony or learning from some New Age 'shaman' that they have the right to perform our sacred ways. Sometimes a wish to participate in another's culture is not the thing to do...

It ain't so much the idea of God being interjected into money, events, etc. (although that's B.S., too), it's the fact that according to the U.S. Constitution, church and state should be separate. For the past few years, religion has been encroaching on secular/state affairs, and that's what burns my rear end. What's next? The idiots who elected Bush already legalized discrimination in a lot of states by their anti-gay legislation, and they are now contemplating legalizing this same discrimination by making it a constitutional amendment. After they do that, the next thing will be that it is a crime to be something other than their religious persuasion.

among some native indigenous peoples...specifically my people/tribe..we believe that one should go into the afterlife w/ all body parts intact...we believe that if one loses a body part in this world, that is the way we will be in the afterlife...for example, i have had lens-replacement eye surgury to remove cataracts...although it was necessary to preserve my eyesight here...i know that in the other world i will have no eyes...but...i wont need them over there anyway...heheh...

...what burns my rear end are those christians who seem to think thier religion is the only valid one and if you dont follow thiers, your gonna BURN IN HELL FOREVER!!!do you evangelicals think that other people (I am native american) different from you DONT have thier own religion passed down to them from thier ancestors?!?...I think those who try to force thier religion on others are the epitome of arrogance and hypocrisy...

I am a member of the mandan, hidatsa, arickara nations of the ft. berthold reservation in nw ND...specifically, the preservation of all three examples cited are equally important in saving tribal identity...there are other factors however that figure in greatly in a persons idea of feeling and being native...one is the alienation/isolation one feels from having grown up on an indian reservation and having endured the label of 'indian' and the accompanying discrimination/racisism still practiced by non-indians...the question deserves more then just these few lines however and I would be happy to discuss this question in a more in-depth manner if you wish...
