Yes, we have a few whack jobs in the US. Gratefully they aren’t the majority and there are still those who realize that science is important. You probably have been fed an erroneous perception about the US because of a few high profile radicals like Sarah Palin. Most of us aren’t that stupid and don’t wish to fall behind the rest of world because of the religious superstitions of a few. Even most “Christians” understand that Evolutionary Biology and stem cell research are key to the survival of our species.

I am older than you by far but I do get that people my age and older tend not to truly comprehend the problems your generation will face. We X-Geners will be leaving you guys a mess of epic proportions. Far too many of us think of you as being spoiled but in reality you are the first American generation since the 1900s that will have a tougher life than your parents. More 30 and 40 somethings should begin to respect this fact.

1980 and the election of Reagan marked a turn about in Americans’ goals and perceptions of themselves and each other. We were all made to view one another as competitors rather than fellow citizens. The very nature of the largely unregulated Capitalism we have lived under for nearly 30 years has had a dramatic effect on the way people treat each other. This and the advent of more technology has also created a life pace so hectic and manic that people are made to feel if they slow down even long enough to obey stop signs that they’ll fall behind. And unlike in some other countries, falling behind in the US can mean literally ending up in the streets.

I don’t agree that teens are stereotyped as being insecure. In my experience far too many of them are overly confident about their skills as drivers and their ability to make decisions about sex and drug use. You are likely wiser than the average teen in that you realize you don’t yet know it all. People like you do learn from life experience and become better for it because you’re open to the idea and not already convinced anyone over 30 is an idiot.

From Gossip Girl to the late Dirty, Sexy Money and any number of lame reality shows about dating, marrying or becoming millionaires, kids are bombarded with the message that being rich is glamorous and not being rich makes you a loser. Based on the lousy economy though more studios are looking to reinvent blue collar and working class vehicles of the sort that used to reign on TV (Roseanne, All In The Family, etc.). So maybe we’ll start to see a new realization that most of us aren’t wealthy, will never be rich and should work harder on being good, creative and kind people rather than the monied cardboard cut outs we see on television.

Not only do older people generally look more expensive from a salary standpoint, they are more costly to businesses that offer health benefits. And in fields like film, TV, media, advertising and fashion, they are just considered too unhip to do the job. 35-40 is the end of the road for a lot of industries like that.

For guys as long as the sex is good and they get time to do their hobbies, watch football, whatever, things are good. The shades of grey we women agonize over simply do not exist for most men.

As one who lives in an area with more illegal aliens than legal taxpayers, allow me to enlighten you… Most of the legal Americans in my neighborhood are Latino. They don’t want to pay for your kids’ educations and health care either. It’s not about race, it’s about money. California is broke, L.A. County is broke, the city is broke. Don’t you get it? We can’t afford to keep absorbing hundreds of thousands of people every year who pay little to no taxes. While there are a few committing social security fraud and paying into a system they can’t use, most in my area are cash only workers who send every spare dime out of the country. It wouldn’t matter if you were a white eastern european. I can’t afford to educate my own kids, let alone yours.

Is the only answer I can give regarding folks who get bent out of shape about OTHER PEOPLE having abortions, OTHER PEOPLE being gay, OTHER PEOPLE holding views they don’t agree with. I frankly cannot comprehend why some people are so fascinated with what total strangers do. No one satisfied with their own reality sits around obsessing about what others are doing.

No kidding. Have you priced kosher or halal meat lately. It’s EXTREMELY expensive to be devout. That combined with the time demands of these religions is why you rarely find super successful people who are very, very religious.

When I was younger my partners were also young, meaning impulsive, selfish and not aware of basic physiology. I don’t know if I’ve grown more adventurous or if I’ve just finally hooked up with a guy who knows how to do things correctly because he’s more mature himself.

Why would I waste my time trying to convince a religious person not to be religious? Who cares?

Your guy enjoys the feeling of having his entire shaft rubbed against your pubic bone at every stroke, which is not unusual. Instead of judging him as to what’s normal the two of you should simply have an adult discussion about compromise. Since you’re so young and hopefully not getting married for a number of years you’ll have plenty of time to work it out before you have sex again.

I guess I’m one of the rare ones who earned enough of my own to marry for love, to a YOUNGER guy. Only loser girls have to resort to being gold diggers. Women with brains and morals want their own careers. The real problem might be that wealthy men prefer silly young girls instead of female equals who might have the nerve to challenge them once in a while.

Buy the biggest strap-on you can find, and tell him that suddenly YOU can’t stay married unless you plow HIS backside on a regular basis. Perhaps he’ll learn some patience. However, you really should talk to a doctor about your hemorrhoids. I would be frustrated too if my partner couldn’t fully enjoy sex because he/she refused to be treated for a health problem.
