Ronald: This happens to me on occasion. Besides your kindeys and bladder, your Cowpers Gland and your Prostate Gland are producing fluids. The Cowpers Gland produces what is commonly known as 'pre-cum' and your Prostate is producing semenal fluid. Both tend to be viscious, sticky fluids that will dry up upon contact with air, causing the slit at the end of your penis to stick together. Try placing the end of your penis between your index finger and thumb and twisting it to free up the opening before you urinate. Also, at your age excessive semenal discharge could be a sign of problems with your Prostate Gland. Annual prostate gland checks are advised for any male over 40.

Tiffany: I live in Santa Cruz, CA- a city with a very large homeless population (because of the mild climate and a very liberal city council). You can't walk three feet without getting hit up for change. When time allows, I will often ask these people what landed them in their situation. Some are Veterans who get limited benefits but cannot apply for further assistance because they are alcoholics and refuse to go sober. Some are obviously mentally ill or unstable and refuse assistance 'because I ain't crazy'. Some were in hospitals, but thanks to severe cutbacks way back when Reagan was governor many of these facilities were closed and there just isn't any room in existing facilities. Some are addicts/alcoholics who refuse to clean up their act and because of this are denied all benefits and cannot get or hold jobs. I'd say of the hundreds I've asked over the years, very few are cases of people actually 'falling through the cracks' of available resources and have no other choice but to beg. I'd say the main reason these people beg is that the more creative/resourcefull ones are earning about $50-$100 dollars a day tax free- much more than they would earn working behind the counter at McDonald's. Mention work to them and they go running in the opposite direction. I mentioned to one that the local artichoke and strawberry fields were hiring workers...this guy actually said to me (and I quote), 'I ain't doin' no Mexican work.' Personally, I never give them money. On occasion, I take them to the grocery store and by them a sandwich. Once a woman asked me for $2.89 so she could by disposable diapers for her baby. I gave her the money, then followed her at a distance for a while to see if she brought the diapers. She walked straight into a liquor store and plunked down $2.89- the exact price of a bottle of Mogen David 20/20.

Both my mother and a good friend work or have worked in neo-natal care units at hospitals. When I told them what I read in your posting, both had a very good, long laugh. Neither one has ever heard that rumor, nor heard of that highly unsanitary practice before. However, it is common practice in dogs and cats to lick the anal region of their young to stimulate defecation and urination. Perhaps that's where that rumor originated.

My parents were missionaries in Kenya in the '90s, and when I visited them I purchased a considerable collection of African statuary. Most of the statuary is religious in nature - various tribal religions. The animal statuary usually garnishes comments of 'my, that's beautiful.' The human-form statuary is usually met with dropped jaws, wide eyes and 'Oh my' comments, as they are fertility statues meant to bring more children, better crops and more cattle. It's either very phallic in nature or depicts the nude female form with exaggerated breasts. I think it is beautiful work but can see how it would offend the Christian sensibility because of its strong sexual nature and simply the fact that they are 'idols.'

Being a gay son of missionaries, this was perhaps the hardest thing in my life to do: to tell my parents that I did not want to belong to a religion that considered my unchosen lifestyle a sin. The only way to do it is to flat-out tell them and to be prepared to give your reasons why you do not want to be a part of their religion. They will be dissapointed and may be for a long time, but the bonds of parent/child love will hopefully overcome their grief, and they will accept you and your reasoning despite their beliefs.

Once or twice a day, usually in the morning shower and right before I fall asleep. It's a great stress reliever and falling asleep with that freshly-spanked feeling is so much easier.

You are not alone...this happens to me and my partner as well. The solution is simple- before you urinate, place your glans (head of your penis) between your thumb and index finger, gently squeeze and roll back and forth. This will cause the opening to 'unstick' which should result in a stream instead of spray. You didn't say if you were circumsized or not- if not pull back the foreskin as well.

Heather, tell me: why would anyone consider sex between two consenting adults, no matter what the race/sex/beliefs of either one, racist? Be it filmed for later public viewing or in private, sex is sex, and I don't see anything racist about having sex.

My good friend had the same issue. He is extremely well-endowed (about eight inches flaccid) and always wears Speedos at the beach. I asked him if he just likes showing off. He said on the contrary that he doesn't like showing off. He said that if he wears trunks, his penis slips out of the pants leg whenever he sits down, and the 'moving' bulge is very noticeable in loose-fitting clothing. I suggested a jock strap, and he's now back to wearing trunks instead of Speedos. Unless of course we're at the nude beach...

As the great blues singer Maria Mulduar so aptly put it, 'It ain't the meat, it's the motion.' My question is why all the hang-up about penis size? If every male in this universe had the same size penis, life would be pretty boring, wouldn't it? Enjoy diversity in race and length.

April: A good lubrication, such as KY Jelly or any other quality water-based gel (not petroleum-based! - too messy and can destroy a condum) is a must for anal sex. Since we're talking about an exit that was never meant to be used as an entrance, hemoroid flare-ups are probably the most common problem associated with repeated anal sex. This is the biggest problem I hear about from my many gay friends who consider themselves 'bottoms'. Not once have I heard any of them complain about loss of elasticity (a problem that could be easily taken care of by doing Kegels).

It's not that Americans think it's wrong for Muslim women to cover their heads and bodies, but more that some (myself included) think it is wrong that women are forced against their will to become Muslim and, among ultra-conservative Muslim sects, forced to wear Hijabis. As we have seen with the Taliban, in some instances women are beaten if they do not comply. Catholic women choose to become nuns, and part of that choice is accepting that they may be required to wear a habit (it's been ages since I've seen a nun in full habit). If a woman were forced to become Catholic and then forced into the nunhood and forced to wear a habit, I would think that just as wrong as forcing a woman to become Muslim and wear a Hajibi. One of the reasons behind the forming of the United States was to escape religious persecution, and one of the tenets we hold strongest is freedom of religion.

The stereotypes are just that- stereotypes. Penis length is a matter of heredity. Anyone who's ever been in a men's locker room can tell you that. As a gay male, I've been 'exposed' to the extremes of anywhere from four-inch erections on grown Black men to ten-inch erections on Asian men. You get what you're born with... and to quote the great blues artist Maria Mauldar, 'it ain't the meat, it's the motion.'

Many of the stories in the bible are drawn from far older sources- such as the story of the great flood. This story can be traced to far older sources than the Bible and much older religions than the Christian religion. In the older stories, the plot line is much the same (evil world, god(s) choose righteous person to build ark, world destroyed, etc.). The theory goes that most of the epic stories, laws, pronouncements, etc. in the bible were drawn from sources/stories that people were familiar with so not as to 'scare them away' from the new Christian God. So where do races come from? Natural selection. Survival of the fittest. Darker skin, able to take the heat and aridity of the tropical/subtropical environment. Lighter skin, able to handle the cold, humid northern climates. Contrary to what your Sunday School Teacher told you, just because it's in the Bible doesn't mean it's cold, hard fact.

Vermont is the only state that recognizes same-sex marriages. And, no it is not offensive to call homosexuals 'gay'. Personally, I prefer being called gay rather than homosexual. 'Homosexual' seems to me to have a cold, scientific ring to it. Would you rather be called a homosapien or a person???
