I was at a German friend's house getting ready to go out that night after work and she told me I could take a shower if I wanted to. She handed me a towel and I asked her for a washcloth. After I explained to her what a washcloth was, she said they don't use them in Germany. I said, 'Why?' and she said, 'I don't know, we just don't'. So I asked her what they wash up with and she said they just used their hands or a bar of soap and I said, 'You don't even use those little scrubby thingies?' and she said no. Then she gave me a look like I was the weird one.

I'm not big on religion because I find it separates people as much as it unites them. Everyone's beliefs are so different, there will never be just one worldwide religion. I find it ironic that you mentioned that the one religion would be in the name of Christ. What about all of the people who thought Jesus was a great man but do not see him as God like Muslims, Buddhists, Jews...Pagans like me? Or atheists who don't believe in God at all? That is the very reason why we don't have one--everyone thinks that their religion is the 'right' one and everyone else is wrong. The key is respecting our differences and not trying to convince others that they have to believe what you believe. Then we truly have a chance at peace in this world.

You're not worshipping your partner like you would worship God. You're also not being brainwashed by a cult leader whom you follow blindly. You're having sex, and D/S just adds a little drama and spice to it. You're over thinking things. You're not going against your religion because you are subservient to your boss, are you? You weren't sinning by listening to your parents growing up. As long as you're two consenting adults and not intentionally hurting anyone, I don't see a problem.

My friends and I listened to bands like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen...and I grew up in the late '80s when those bands were no longer popular. We also listened to even older stuff like The Doors and The Rolling Stones. And you know what? I STILL listen to them, as well as bands people your age listen to like Linkin Park and Godsmack. It's great that you and your friends have an open mind and a broad musical taste. Stay that way. When you get 'older' like me, people will love that about you.

So funny that you asked that. I'm Italian and my boyfriend is Puerto Rican, and we were saying just the other day how funny it is that our cultures are so similar, yet I am considered white and he is considered Hispanic. Italian Americans have their own traditions and customs, are darker complected, and have more in common with Hispanics than Whites. It's something that's happened over time, I guess. When Italian immigrants first came here, they certainly weren't considered white. I'd say only in the last thirty years or so that it's changed, although I'd say some people think of us as 'Ethnic White'. Kind of shows you how stupid labeling people are. I'm glad we're not the only people who thought it was odd!

White people do dance, just maybe not to the same music that you do. I love rock music and am not ashamed to admit it. I love the energy, the drum beats, how excited it makes me feel. The music I dance to is always punk/industrial or 80s pop. Just depends on your taste and what appeals to you. I listen to all kinds of music, depending on my moods, but don't enjoy a lot of 'dance' music. So white people CAN dance--to songs they like, whether it's country music, rap, punk, or oldies.

Because they're funny! I don't look at their humor as racist - just honest. Usually, I find myself relating to some of their stories. It bridges the gap and makes me understand other races more. When Chris Rock or John Leguizamo talk about how weird their mother is and I think to myself, 'Oh, that's totally MY mom!', it shows me that we're not so different after all. When my black best friend and I watch 'black' shows or comedians together, I ask her questions like, 'Do black people really believe that?' and we have deep, honest discussions. Just like when she watches shows like The Sopranos and asks me if it portrays Italians correctly. Keep an open mind.

I was raised Catholic and every single boyfriend I've ever had has been Jewish. I'm madly attracted to them. Always have been. And I never had a problem getting them to go out with me. They're sweet, funny guys and very open-minded. And you never have to worry about whose family you have to spend Christmas with! I think as long as they're not Orthodox, they'd have no problem dating you. And you if want a white, non-practicing Italian friend, feel free to email me.

No, you should not stop hanging out with them. Gay people can be some of the most sensitive, empathetic, joyful friends a straight person can have. They have usually had hard lives and are open-minded, so they're good listeners and will talk to you about anything. You should ignore people who accuse you of being gay by association, because they are just ignorant. And besides, there are much worse things I can think of being accused of than being gay - like being a bad friend or letting other people make my decisions for me. Take it from someone who's been there, done that and cherishes the gay friends she has in her life.
