LizParticipantI don’t think African-Americans are jealous of the way white people look. I don’t think they have an inferiority complex either. As to white people wanting to be like black people, I don’t think that’s true either. The vast minority of people actually go to tanning salons, and get plastic surgery. You’re thinking of movie stars and rich people. The rest of us wouldn’t waste the money. And as to ‘hip hop,’ there are far more black artists in that field. Are you forgetting the other genres? ‘Alternative’ ‘Heavy metal’ ‘pop’… We’re certainly not lacking in people who embrace the pale shade of their skin and thin lips and all of that jazz. Point: I don’t think white people are jealous anymore than black people are. I think for the most we’re happy with the way we are.

LizParticipantActually, we do find it acceptable for guys to do it [I think it’s a turn on], and among my friends, masturbation isn’t really an issue, because, fact, we all know we do it. My friend went out and bought a vibrator when we were really young [13], and ever since, we’re perfectly open about when we were horny, even our sexual quirks… Maybe we’re just abnormally open, though?

LizParticipantMaybe it’s genetic, but either way, people shouldn’t be so offended. It’s fine for black males to ask about why white women smell bad, so maybe it’s all right for Hispanic men to ask why black women smell bad.

LizParticipantIt’s not racism, for me, it’s instinct. In New Orleans, white people are the minority, and some people can be violently racist against me for being a small white chick. Of course, I fear all strange men. They are scary.
