First, you should understand that not all religions connected with Christianity are Christian; it would be very hard to unite even THOSE religions under one banner, much less to unite ALL religions under one banner. And even if you could unite all religions, why assume they'd be united under Christianity? As a fellow Christian, I suggest you try looking at this question from outside your own religious bias. How would a Jewish person feel about this issue? A Muslim? An atheist? IMO, a yearning toward God is a natural part of the human psyche, so yes, religion is necessary - for our species as a whole, though not for every individual. And it would be next to impossible to unite us all under ONE religion.

I agree with you 100% in your assessment of the Iraq war. However, I don't think you can use that mess to determine the value of religion in general. Why not look at religious leaders whose faith has led them to heroism and acts of reform? What about Mother Theresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, etc.? Religion in the wrong hands can cause horrible damage, but only because it's such a powerful force. All, or almost all, human beings feel a yearning for spirituality; it's just that most of us don't channel it properly.

Sexuality isn't really a three-part deal: you're not just gay, straight or bi. Sexuality is a continuum, and only a tiny number of people are 100% gay or 100% straight. People who are mostly gay tend to identify themselves as gay, and people who are mostly straight tend to identify as straight, but really almost all of us are bi. Me, I identify as lesbian, but I've definitely had my crushes on men!

You're not alone. A lot of women feel very comfortable with gay men, which goes some way toward explaining the attraction of movies like My Best Friend's Wedding and TV shows like Will and Grace - and probably the 'slash' genre of fiction, as well. My closest female friend is a straight woman attracted to gay men, and what she likes is the friendship and intimacy she gets from them that she doesn't get from straight men. Plus, they make her feel safe. Ring any bells?

SOME gay men act feminine, and some lesbians act like men. Alternately, some straights act 'gay' and some gays act 'straight.' The sexual orientation stereotype is less common than you think. But as for your question, 'Why do they act that way?' the answer is that it's not an act; they're being themselves. Most people, gay or straight, have some characteristics of the opposite sex. Homosexuals often have more (or more obvious) characteristics of the opposite sex.

Not particularly - at least, I don't. It's just my body, you know?
