I think you are watching to many rap videos. I am a black woman and not one of my friends, family members or their family members wear gold teeth. We can ask the same of whites - why do so many wear veneers instead of their real teeth>

Living in this country and being black, you sometimes feel disrespected because of the way you are sometimes treated. I feel that if you bump into someone it is most polite to say sorry. I have noticed that whites will not move over or will walk right into you without apologizing. If I bump into someone I was raised to always say sorry, even if I had to shout it down the street. It is just a matter of respecting someone's space and body.

No one would be offended if movies made fun of blacks - if they don't go over the line into racism. We are all for a laugh; if you listen to anyone from Richard Pryor to Chris Rock, they always make fun of blacks. I feel whites think we are too sensitive to make fun of us. No one said you couldn't. I would welcome a film that made fun of us in a funny way, not a racist way, as in the '20s and '30s with the watermelon smiles and the big lips and incorrect speech. These types of movies entertained white audiences for years and help developed the stereotype that blacks are uneducated and lazy.

It is rare we develope head lice, our hair does not hold in oils and also due to our texture of hair which inhibits lice from attaching to the root.

Hair extensions give many women the flexibilty to constantly change their looks. If it is done right it is beautiful. Many caucasians wear hair extensions to increase the volume of flat hair and I am sure if their hair could hold braids they would certainly have this look. I always wanted to know why caucasians tan for hours when it is definitely life threatening unlike weaving which is not life threatening. Lastly, why does anyone really care about why people wear fake hair I believe some people are afraid to step out and change because they are concerned what others would say. Live a little, life is to short to worry about small things.

We don't celebrate either, for the same reasons. It amazes me that we are called unpatriotic when our ancestors were enslaved on July 4, 1776. We are one of the most patriotic races; we have lost a lot of lives trying to be free, when other cultures came through Ellis Island with more freedoms than African Americans.
