The title of the book is offensive and the author who's African-American should know better. That's good trying to teach people have self-esteem, but using offensive terms to teach self-esteem is not good. 'Nappy' is a word that white slavemasters and racists used when describing pure African slaves'hair texure or the mixed race blacks(like myself) who had kinky/tightly-curled hair during the slavery and Jim Crow days. They used that term to make us feel inferior about having original African hair which is kinky-tightly curled hair. That's why you might hear an African-American saying that another African-American(regardless of skin tone) with naturally straight, wavy, or curly hair has 'good hair'. I used to get fed up when I heard that term, 'good hair' because my hair is naturally kinky-tighlty curled(it was a mixture of curly & straight hair when I was a baby, but kinked up in my toddler years.). I still get upset when people of any race refer my hair texture as 'nappy, bad hair, or nigga hair' because I extremely hated it when they refer those terms to describe my hair texture. Also, by me claiming my mixed heritage as my identity, some people who're uneducated or ignorant would tell me that I'm not mixed because I don't have 'good hair'. Well, I'm caramel/medium light brown skinned and that's NOT a pure original African complexion Pure Africans had excessively dark brown skin. Lenny Kravitz's hair is kinky and his dad is a white Jew. Fredrick Douglass's hair was kinky and his father was a white plantation owner. What make a person is mixed ancestry no matter how they look. So when this white teacher read this book to her students, many black parents were outraged because they felt that her as a white woman saying 'nappy hair' would make them feel ashamed or inferior for having kinky-tightly curled hair. I understand how they felt about that book, but they shouldn't only be upset at the white teacher. They should be upset at the author for using the racist term, 'nappy'! She should have used a politically correct term to describe original African hair texture like kinky or tightly curled hair.

What do you mean about not liking their hair when in fact mostly(maybe all)Americans of African heritage in this country are racially mixed(like myself) and mostly white and Native American mixture that goes far back to slavery days. Since we are multiracial, we come in every shade, eye color, hair texture and color, facial feature, and body shape. Some of us look Caucasian and other races(not me, I look African-American, but have medium light brown skinned due to my mixed ancestry). You might find a sista who look like Pamela Anderson-Lee that you may mistaken for a 'pure' white woman until she tell you her mixed background especially if she or her family are from Creole Louisiana. Plus, be careful some our brothas or sistas who don't look black and ashamed of their African heritage might lie to you by passing for another race. But, won't reveal their true heritage. Since the slavery days, we have a very long history of mulattoes (mixed with black and white ancestry) who look white and passed as whites to get benifits in this racist society. Remember some Caucasian-looking mulattoes, not all. My point is that we black Americans(or mixed-race/mulattoes, lol) have different range of hair textures due to our mixed ancestry. From kinky/tightly-curled hair to straight hair. So is it the hair texture that bothers you when it comes to my sistas, or what? Just to let you(anyone else ho see my reply) know that I have a website on blonde bombshell actress, Heather Locklear having black heritage which makes her a sista, too. Do you find her attracted?

They were being evil according to their way instead of mourning his death(Rom.12:5) and praying for his soul to be heaven or praying his family and loved ones. Plus, they forget that Jesus says to be merciful and not to judge or condemn(Luke 6:35-37 and Mat.5:7). They were not acting like true people of God in a biblical way(2 Tim. 2:24-26, St. Paul also talks about correcting in kindness, meekness, or humulity.) They thought that it was ok lord over people when that's wrong(Ezek.34:1-4 & 1 Pet.5:1-3). So I couldn't trust them(1 Cor.4:1-2) when it comes to teaching(Jas. 3:1-2) since they were acting like wolves in sheep's clothing(Acts 20:28-31).
