- No, I don't think its taboo. I started college a little young and I eased into it by taking night classes before going full time. The majority of students going to night college with me were either military, retired and wanting something to do, or had already gotten one degree and was working on another one to help with a promotion in their already established careers. I think the closest person in age to me that year was 24. Now I go to full time day classes and there are very few people not in the 'traditional' college age range. In most of the classes I have had though the middle age people sort of automatically band together ( and start swapping stories of their jobs/families etc.) which may discourage others joining their group since most of us don't have those experiences. Maybe the other students wont go out of their way to hang out with you, but I don't think they would go out of their way to avoid you either.

I always remember being extremely thirsty. I mean here you are loaded down with candy, walking for miles with no water in sight. I remember one year a trusted member of the neighborhood was giving out hot apple cider. It was one of the best houses to go to. If the parents in your area would be uncomfortable with unsealed liquid, I don't see where juice boxes could go wrong. They are probably more expensive than candy though. If the tattoo was completely covered then no one would notice it and it wouldn't matter. If it were completely uncovered then people would think "that's cool" or "that person is socially deviant" depending on their view of tattoos. But since a tramp stamp is half uncovered it makes people wonder what the other half looks like and because of where it is located that leads to other thoughts. I think it would be hard to think a thought that has not been thought before at one time or another by one of the trillions of people alive at any time in the past. Just in the past two hundred years the number of inventions seems to point to an increase in individual thought. They usually mix the first letter of the persons name with a personality trait or physical feature. I have only seen four name signs that could be considered negative and derisive. These signs meant, in essence: stupid, shy, large ego, and crazy. All of the name holders were proud of these signs except maybe the girl called shy, but if she didn't like it she was too shy to say anything about it. A Deaf person is rarely 'stuck' with a name sign if they hate it they can change it, just as they would if it no longer made sense. I once knew a women who's name sign was based on her long hair, she changed it when she cut her hair short. Your contact was either ignorant or pulling your leg. My name sign was given to me by a very dear friend and means 'cool'.User Detail :

If I was Deaf, I would probably name my child something that was fun and easy to finger-spell such as Ruth. I would not name them something long. My last name is 9 letters long and its really hard to finger-spell. It makes me feel like an armature when I am giving a presentation because I usually 'stutter' while signing it. Also I do think that the meaning has a lot to do with it. The other day I met a Deaf women who recently had a baby. When I asked what the little boys name was she told me "Jonah like in the Bible".
