When it comes to conservative religion, time knows no boundaries. To them, the fact that All Hallow's Eve is the source of Halloween makes it Satanic. (The fact that druids did not worship Satan has no bearing to them.) And as far as many conservative Christians are concerned, fear of Hell is just as good as love of God. My advice is to keep your kids as far away from your neighbors as possible.

Why is it always the responsibility of whites to fight racism? Racist attitudes are far from exclusive to whites. While I agree that white churches should and could work harder on racial harmony, so should every other place of worship, Christian or otherwise.

Many whites want desperately to not be racist. I try hard not to prejudge anyone. But in all truth I prejudge EVERYBODY. White, black, hispanic, fat, muscular, sexy..., everyone. But after I get to know somebody, I don't always have their race on my mind every time I see them. But I never forget it. Any more than if I have a friend with any physical difference. I don't think any one does, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I don't know why you would doubt the guy if he says he is adjusting himself. There is a lot to adjust down there. If it is out of whack it can pull hair. Any temperature change can also change the size and shape, which can require adjustments. As a female, you don't have quite the equiptment down there that we do, or at least on the outside. Cut us some slack. And so what if sometimes it just itches.

If you want/need some "quiet time," you'll find it. Try the bathrooms or something. I never had a problem. My only advice is, do not simply wait until you think your roommate is asleep, and do it in your bunk. Many guys got the reputation of creating a "three-minute earthquake" in their bunkbed. It is not a reputation you want.

A generalization for a generalization: Men like cool things. Honor duals and katanas are cool. European culture is cool only if it is dealing with combat or particularly bloody history. I know I wrote a response to another posting saying that we should avoid stereotypes, but this question could only be answered with an extreme stereotype. Sorry if I seem hypocritical.

Does anyone else get tired of men being stereotyped as shallow, while women are supposedly deep and soul-searching? Everyone is attracted to attractive people. A person who has depth, true depth, seeks depth. A package that appeals to you is a great thing, and more likely than not, is the first thing that will get your attention. If you do not find the person attractive overall, you probably will not go further. If all you want is their money, or body, or whatever, male or female, then that's probabably all you are yourself. Women don't have some magic that makes them deep. Society teaches that women should be deep and men should be shallow. That is a crock. Don't encourage it.
