No, it’s a quote, it is what the author said you can’t it change it or it wouldn’t be a quote it would be something like a paraphrase. I’m sure everyone would understand what it meant. You can’t change quotes just to make them “include” all people when they already do just with a different word.

Nope, I went to an academic magnet school, which means we only had Honors/AP classes, no standard. I would say half or more of the students were black or “minority” students. Do you have any of those schools in your area maybe thats where they all are? Maybe not

Good point. And I agree that words like that, when they are used in a derogatory way do not need to be used, I don’t have a problem with people calling each other that like in a family or friend situation. And yes I’m sure everyone is guilty of having some double standard about something and it will always be that way.

I don’t persecute people, its not against the law, it doesn’t mean I apporve but hey it’s not my place and it’s not against the law. This may be a bit off the topic but my question why do people who kill pregnant women get blamed for the murder of no only the woman but the baby too? but then a woman who has an abortion has not committed the same crime of murder that the killer of the pregnant woman and her child. I think this is kind of a double standard, you know. The killer gets two punishments for two murders but then the mother can have an abortion without consequence from the law. Maybe I’m crazy but it doesnt make any sense.

Women’s feelings are generally hurt more easily than men’s. or am I wrong? Guys tend to just brush off insulting comments, or we usually make to each other on purpose because that’s how we are I don’t know why it’s just what we do. Women on the other hand, I think anyway, don’t brush the comments off as easily.

To start, sorry if anything I say comes off racist or discriminatory, it’s not and it’s not meant to be this is what I think sorry again. I think this is like asking why black people are black and white people are white, etc. It is in their genes just like the color of their skin. There’s somethin about their environment, where at least their ancestors came from, Asia that made them adapt and become that way for survival. Like black people became darker because if you get too sunburned then you get really sick so if they are going to survive where theyr originated, Africa then you can’t be burned easily. White people are white because of where they come from, it doesn’t get as hot in Europe/Russia, in fact it gets alot colder so they are not a dark from the sun and the reason that Swedis

She probably doesn’t see the need you do. If you broke up with her then she probably wants to wait a little while because she’s not over you yet and doesn;t want it to hurt knowing that she can talk to you but can;t talk like she used too. If she broke up with you then I don’t know maybe because she did it because she didn’t know for sure and the only way she can stay without you is to cut you out for a little bit. Or it could be any number of other reasons that I can’t think of at the moment for some reason.

Yes white men are priviledged, oh yea so much it’s almost unbearable. Sorry for the enormous sarcasm there but I had too. Let’s examine the facts. Affirmative action, good or Bad? Bad for white people, especially males. Now let’s see a black female and a white male apply to the same college. The white male had a 4.0 in high school, the black female had a 2.9-3.0. Who get’s in? Well if the school has to fill quotas for affirmative action then the black female because she’s black and a female even though the male is more qualified. Affirmative action is forced discrimination. All it does is hold back a “majority” person because of things that have happened in the past and haven’t affect many if any of the students and workers today. Yea, there’s no one left alive that was a slave even for on

I looked up both words on dictionary.com. and Sex: means basically the determining of male or femal based on sex organs, penis and vagina. Gender means basically the same the difference between male and female, although there is a small usage note at the bottom that talks about gender referring to social and/or cultural categories, it mentions the fact that this is by no means widely used by anyone any where and that’s true. I agree with their definition there are two sexes, male and female defined by sex organs, penis and vagina, not penis or no penis. and there are two genders, male and female the only exception is the rare case of a “hermaphrodite”(sp?) in which case the person is neither.

Besides black history month the Smithsonian, the source I’m gonna use, has 4 other history or “heritage” months as they call them, “In honor of our nation’s richly diverse cultural heritage, the Smithsonian celebrates five heritage months each year”. These are, American- indian heritage month, women’s history month, Asian-pacific islander history month, and black history month. heres a link http://www.smithsonianeducation.org/heritage_month/ See women’s history is not the only forgotten month. None of them should be, it is important to know where we came from, but why is there not a “white” history month, or “european-american” history month, and so on? Why is that we are forced, in high school, to listen to the principal read from MLK’s “I have a dream speech, or the bill of rights or

I would like to ask how many people really think that it refers to a patriarchal society when they hear mankind, or do most people think it just means all people? Not trying to bash anything here but how many people do you know that think that way everyday? I don’t know many that would take it that way in passing conversation, in a conversation like this, yes, it’s understanable to see it that way and it may go back to that time but most people don’t think about it on that level. And if most people don’t think about it like that then why does it matter?

This could be because most of what a President “does” doesn’t take effect until after he leaves office, during the term of the next President. While there are a few things they President can directly cause to happen, there are far more things that require the approval or consent of Congress and/or the Supreme Court. The President cannot even propose a bill to the legislature he can support a bill a ask for support from the Congressmen and women but he cannot force it to go through the only time a President has control over a bill or law is after both houses pass it and he can sign it or veto it but he can write a few things in and Congress will have to approve those before it is official. I’m not too familiar with what Reagan did while in office but maybe people think he was a great Presid

No, not at all, how could there be? Then you’d have to say since America was settled mostly by white Europeans, that it’s not America it’s Europe. It’s on the African continent. It is African.

This is because many people celebrate these two holidays even people who are not Christian. They don’t put crosses or any religious symbols in the schools. Many use Easter to have egg hunts or whatever else you might do on Easter and they use Christmas to give each other presents and get together as a family even if they don’t believe in Jesus so even though they are now considered Christian holidays many people celebrate them and just leave out the religious part of it.
