I’m saddened that you had to be introduced to the United States in such a negative fashion, but allow me to assure that it is not the same everywhere. There are a lot of places that are chock-full of nice, generous people. I hope you don’t honestly think that the bad experience you had is an accurate generalization for the rest of the country. In response to your other question, I think that America is pretty much fed up with what other countries think. We are told every day by our media that the rest of the world hates us just because we are American, and since we don’t have the time to find out if this is true, why not believe it (please note the sarcasm). Americans have enough problems AT HOME without having to worry about what our neighbors think. However, Bernice, please try to experience more of the United States before you decide your opinion.

It could be that you have been dealing with a bunch of rude people. Treatment to service people varies with each customer: sometimes you’ll get jerk-heads, whilst other times you’ll get a person who actually sees you as a human being who is trying to make ends-meat on a crappy wage and that the last thing you need is some pompous attitude from an unappreciative prick.

I am the second child of an older couple (My father is sixty, and my mother … we don’t say her age, but she’s eleven years the junior of the ‘old fart’). Although my parents are rather ‘eccentric’, they are the most astounding people I know, even in their later years. In response to you question about a ‘cut-off point’, I would say the only thing that should stop you is when you hit menopause, maybe even after (i.e. adoption). Age doesn’t matter with parenting, only instinct and love. Of course, that’s just my opinion.

You should call the cops. NOW! If you can, get him thrown in jail (which won’t be a problem if you cooperate with your local authorities) and get the strictest restraining order you can.

You’re still within the ‘age-range’ of these girls, so I would not consider it pedophilia. According to the website ‘Answers.com’, under the ‘Encyclopedia’ section of the topic of pedophilia, is ‘ psychosexual disorder in which there is a preference for sexual activity with prepubertal children.’ Just because you ‘like’ these girls does not make you a pedophile.
