I've been told that the reason we don't get lice is that lice can't grip our hair because of the oil. I went to high school with a girl who was of the Indian (from India) culture, and her family used olive oil (sparingly, of course) in their hair. My guess is that they didn't get lice, either. Whatever the reason, I'm glad we don't have to deal with it.

If it is within your character to listen to that type of music, you have every right to sing along. Some will get offended. Some won't give a hoot. That rings true for a lot of words in today's lyrics. You can't please everybody. But use your judgment. There is a time and place for everything.

Do you think that maybe others are doing this also, but for whatever reason you are noticing the black people more? How, by the way, since you are driving on the interstate, presumably going at least 65 mph, do you know that all of these people are 'black' and not just dark-skinned Indian (from India) or hispanic people? Either way, why is it bothering you?

You will never understand racism if you aren't affected by it. We deal with all types of racism. If someone calls you racist for asking them to be quiet, that's ridiculous. If you are only asking the black person to be quiet, and there are all sorts of people talking, that's racist. We as a people need to pick our battles carefully. If you feel that you are being fair, say so. Ask why the person thinks you're being racist. You may find that you're doing something offensive and didn't even know it.
