Jen TMemberIn Birmingham, females are not allowed to enter a gents club without a male escort; this keeps the levels of prostititutes to a mininmum, I guess. I am niether bi or a lesbian but I do enjoy watching a dancer who is good at her craft. For me, it is more of a ‘sensual’ thing than a ‘sexual’ thing. It is like wathcing a good actor in a movie or in a good play. Who of us still remembers the chick in ‘Dusk till Dawn’ dancing with the snake? I think as long as it goesn’t bother ya’ll and the dancers don’t mind, enjoy!

CandyMemberYes, lesbians and bi-women do go to ‘gentlemen clubs’ as you call them – more often than one may think. This occurs much more in larger, more diverse communites. As you can imagine, the prettier, more feminine lesbians are quite eagerly welcomed – whereas butch, manly women may raise some eyebrows. And yes, there are clubs that cater to lesbians (you might remember Ben Affleck ‘accidently’ went to one last year in Canada) but they’re rare and there are none in the U.S. that I am aware of. The ratio of women in these clubs to men is very very small though. Lesbians (and most women) do not spend NEARLY the kind of money on adult entertainment that gay and straight men do. Most lesbians who visit these clubs, go once or twice a year (like straight girls might go to male strippers for a bachelorette), and not every Thursday for a night out with the gals.

Kristy26300MemberI’m a lesbian and have never been to a strip bar. Surprisingly, I know many straight women who have. I don’t object to strip clubs, I just would be embarrassed to go. I would guess that it’s more of a straight or bisexual woman’s fetish than for lesbians.

J.D.MemberI’ve been to a straight strip club with my guy friends before. I am a bi-sexual female, but I don’t know of any bi or lesbian only strip clubs. The men in the club seemed uncomfortable with me being there, and the girls didn’t really treat me with the same bump-and-grind that the male patrons received.

MindyMemberI am a lesbian and I think strip bars are fun. I’m not offended by the idea of women stripping for money…I think the women are incredibly brave! I think it must feel very powerful to have that much control over an audience. I think there are some ‘lesbian’ strip clubs, but certainly not here in the heartland.

KorenMemberWell, I don’t know about the rest of the country, but when I went out to a strip club with some lesbian friends of mine, they wouldn’t let us in without male escorts. Apparently this was a precaution against prostitution. Not that we looked like prostitutes! So to start off, some clubs are definitely more friendly to all-women groups than others. I think being offended by stripping depends on the person (straight or gay). Some women (not just lesbians) think stripping is demeaning to women, because it objectifies them, for example. My friends and I just wanted to drink some beers and look at beautiful ladies. I think it boils down to a matter of taste, rather than sexuality. I’ve never heard of lesbian-specific stripclubs, but it would be a neat idea!

Lisa22746MemberI am straight but on a few occassions of a night out drinking with my husband and another couple, we have gone to an upscale strip club. I have had the same experience as you, it is quite arousing to have a dance like that. I would be curious to hear from other women…
