Let me begin by saying that your own timetable for shaving is sound. However I disagree with your opening thesis taht there is a gender contradiction. In this country men ARE considered unclean if they are not shaven. Ask most men how many times a week they shave and you’ll see that the shaving industry is making a bundle; most of it from men. Think about this:what percentage of men sport a moustache? Not many. Even fewer have beards. [The goatee, is even losing steam. And there are many men who shave their backs and bodies b/c many people find it unattractive. So what is going on here? I agree with the respondant who says that men are, on the whole, hairier than women [my wife never has to shave her legs, for example]. Fashion and then culture has extrapolated this so that it is considered more appropriate for women to be as hairless as possible. But this has affected men too; as far fewer men wear facial hair than even fifty years ago.

I’ve discussed this with a few of my male friends and will share my information. You are right about excitement level playing a part, although for me it was the reverse of what seemed logical. When I first started dating my wife I could last for well over an hour or even two. Now its more like ten minutes during the week and twenty on the weekend. My feeling is that I may be selfishly just trying to get off faster now. Most of my friends tell me they last no more than five minutes, but one generally goes for half an hour.

To Don: Your response didn’t address any of the questions you were responding to. My unscientific opinion is that there is more mental illness here in the US and that’s part of the price paid for a high octane culture. So there would seem to be more of the so-called ‘psycho killings.’ Multiple killings by the mentally ill in other countries is much rarer. The second part of your answer is just an insult. Even if 80% of the prison population in CA were Latino, they are still–I’m sure–mostly Americans of Latin descent. Besides most aren’t in because of psycho killings.

COULD it mean? Well, yes. But it is much more likely that he is a secure heterosexual, in touch with his body. There are a lot of nerve endings around the anus making it an erogenous zone for many people–men and women–as you have probably found out. Personally, I love that kind of stimulation when receiving oral sex but I am not sexually attracted to men–which is really the definition of being gay. Unless your boyfriend starts to express feeling for men, you should separate anal contact with homosexuality.
