I would say there are two answers for you, niether of which I agree with as a way of life. The first is that traditionally Men are supposed to be the iniating members of relationships. Women were not supposed to assume this rule, unless they were prostitutes. I would said there is a subtle underline of this still in our culture(notice how men iniate tackling or wrestling when flirting in movies) As far as insecurity there is still a lot of male anziety dealing with sex(be it relating to performance or stature). Men being able to sleep around is one means of feeling in control and it would seem women doing the same takes that control away.

For me 'old fashioned' means a false idiealization of the way things once were. I don't idealize the world my parents and grandparents grew up in and see it as a good thing that some of the cultural norms of those times have disappeared. I feel insulting when I'm chivalrious and that it negates an equal relationship. As far as dress, I like being comfortable and I don't like materialism. I think it's absurd that to step outside my resideance there is a certain appearance I must maintian.

That is unfortunately a person to person answer. I'm somewhat hairy and always have been. I don't mind hair, and in most cases actually like it. Skin is softer and smoother with some hair coverage. But I know both men and women that feel differently.

When I was younger it did occur where I would refer to an area of town as 'bad' simply because it was lower income or other lies. For the record at the same time I did not realize how wealthy my family was either, my life for me was simply my perception of life and all I did was accept what I heard from friends and family as truth. And just for the record both my Dad, and Grandmother on my mom's side are from poor upbringings and made thier own fortunes. They are two of the more Posh elitiests I've ever met. New Money can be just as unaccepting
