I really get tired of this crap about African-Americans who speak in proper English 'acting white'. Afftene, you are not a sell out. You are a young girl who is educated (your English teachers taught you well), mature (you question yourself), and follows your heart, not the lastest fad (you choose to experiment). The sell outs are the ones who can't define for themselves what it means to be black because they never picked up a book on black History to learn about our rich culture and heritage. The sell outs are the drug dealers and thieves who make a living destroying our communities instead of using their talents to build them up. Be yourself. We come in all shapes, shades, sizes, and temperments. No one holds the key to blackness.

I am a African American born and raised in the inner city. Most people of color are honest and lawful. Unfortunatley, you have a few criminal parasitic indivduals who are the bane of the black community. They've preyed on me too. And just like you, I want to go out and fry their a**ES.

Melissa, T.F. Young children cursing, especially at their parents, has nothing to do with race and you know it. It has to do with parenting style and maybe socio-economic status. I'm a teacher who has worked with many types of students. White or Black, children learn what they live. Somewhere these children learned how to swear. Somehow they learned it was OK to swear. I've seen this behavior in black and white communities. This is a parenting issue.
