The problem with name-brand products is the price! Parents are forced to pay three times the price of an identical un-branded product just so their kids can walk around as unpaid advertisements with brand names stitched across their chests. As a parent, I value the individuality of my daughter and would prefer her to dress in clothes she genuinely likes, rather than the ones deemed necessary to have by others.

I know exactly what you mean and have had very similar experiences. On asking the question, I have been told many times that it is assumed that I will automatically try to ‘convert’ people to my way of life, or condemn people who choose to eat meat. They feel they have to state their reasons for eating meat so they are not perceived as being cruel.
