I live in a white (Jewish) neighborhood. At work I’m the only black man in my department, and I went to all-white schools until college. I’ll tell you what the average suburban white American male likes: Fake boobs on a stick. It’s unfathomable to me that they aren’t attracted to women who exhibit more of the sexual dimorphism that makes men men and women women. To tell you the truth, I’ve thought for years that it was somewhat homo-erotic that white men seem to like women with the bodies of prepubescent boys, i.e. no hips, butt, all body hair shaved off, etc. White men in other countries seem to be more appreciative of more womenly women.

It looks like timeclock-punching Joe Lunchbox has a problem with black people exercising their pursuit of happiness. Did a black man tell you to go to trade school? I don’t think so.

Don’t take out the disappointments and frustrations of your unfulfilling, mundane existence on black people who are utterly unconcerned with you.

If you are a white male and can’t get ahead, you are simply a loser. Being white, and especially a white male, is all about having doors open at your approach. Being a black male in America is about hearing the lock click just as you reach for the handle. Yet I have a master’s in computer science and am a department head. And no, I didn’t go to school via affirmative action or athletic scholarship; it was a mathematics scholarship.

Of course, if I were a fair-haired white guy, my boss would be trying to give me his daughter’s hand in marriage. Still, just by being a white male and knowing white people, you could easily rise to professional heights that simply aren’t open to me in corporate America. That is, if you stop spending all your time in the pursuit of weed and Doritos and move out of your mom’s basement.

If you really live in Detroit, then you know that there are tens of thousands of young black men in Detroit who work for one of the Big 3 (Ford, GM or Daimler). Many of these men live in ‘the hood’ because that’s where they are from, and they have no desire to move. Take it from a black suburbanite, Detroit is one of the most racially polarized cities in the United States. If a young man makes $60-80,000 working for Ford, and his living expenses are low, he can afford the cars and clothes, 20-inch gold rims, diamond-encrusted platinum watches, etc.

The obvious reason they engage in that behavior is that it works. Young women respond to it. If you doubt me, take a drive down Jefferson to Belle Isle on any weekend during the summer. It’s exactly like a peacock. Women are the prime movers of society, and everything that men do is in the direct or indirect pursuit of women. Whatever women respond to is what many men are going to give them. And in Detroit, that is big trucks on gold rims with loud booming stereos full of young men dressed in the latest, most expensive ‘gear.’ If the young women didn’t run over to their trucks and hand out phone numbers like tic-tacs, the young brothas wouldn’t continue to behave in that manner.

First, I find the term ‘blacks’ offensive. Black what? At least conceal your racism enough to say black people. As an African American, I would have to say that our loyalty to the Democratic Party is a case of the lesser of two evils. The Democrats are no angels; however, FDR was a Democrat, and he kept millions of African Americans (as well as non-African Americans) from starving during the Depression. African Americans haven’t forgotten that, and have passed that loyalty down to their children. Then there is the fact that Republicans are concerned only with the well-being of big business and big oil. Republicans are anti-working man, and a good percentage of black people tend to be working class, or have working class roots. If it weren’t for the obvious anti-black slant of the Republican Party (everything they support, from school vouchers to ending affirmative action to never raising the minium wage, to their opposition to OSHA, negatively affects huge numbers of black people), many more African Americans would vote Republican. African Americans tend to be conservative in most things. We only ally ourselves with the Democrats because the extermination of our race isn’t as high on their list of priorities as it is among Republicans.

I can’t speak for all black men, but I think many of them feel black women are (and have been since slavery) co-conspirators with white men in a genocidal war waged on black men.

Personally, I’ve found that white women are more understanding of black men, maybe because we share the same oppressor. Black women don’t face the same pressures and pitfalls that many black men face all of their lives. White men aren’t afraid of black women. And further, they have always been sexually (if not romantically) attracted to them.

Many office environments today look like plantation big-houses of the antebellum South, with a massa-manager and his harem of fawning young black clerical types – and not a black male in site. So, if black men do hate black women, it’s because they clearly see in the words and actions of black women that they hate black men.

I’m more inclined to believe mixed race women are the beauty standard. That is certainly what Jay-Lo is. She’s Puerto Rican, and hence of mixed race. Americans only want so much coffee in their cream. I doubt if they are as enthralled with black noses or hair. One trait you failed to mention is big breasts. Go to any black middle school in America and you’ll see any number of eighth-grade girls who wear double-D bras. On the other hand, white women have made a billion-dollar business of the fake boob industry.

You are 100 percent correct. Women don’t know what they really want. What they claim to want and what they actually respond to are diametrically opposed. Those guys dress that way for one reason and one reason only: Young women love it. Young black, white, Latina and Asian women love that thug look. Personally, I find the oversized sagging pants repulsive; but then again, I’m a 30-plus engineer who has watched Star Trek his entire life and has a collection of mechanical pencils. White kids have equally silly trends of their own, not to mention that many of them dress in the hip-hop style. Have you ever seen a group of Goth teenagers? My town is lousy with them, and they are a sad, sorry bunch. And by the way, those trends are really Mexican trends that black males in Southern California picked up from the Cholos and spread around the country.

You are grossly mistaken about Escalades in Detroit. This is maybe the one city in the United States where a guy can barely graduate from high school, get a job in the auto plants and (with overtime) make $70,000 in two years. Detroit is lousy with young men and women with $60,000 trucks.

I’m black and wear shorts well into November and December. I live in Michigan and went to school with a lot of white guys, who all did this. I think the obvious answer is that whites come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow …
