I am a white woman who has been told often by black men that I have the body of a black woman or an hourglass figure, I take this as a huge compliment and it has helped me to accept the fact that I am never going to have the body of a stick thin fashion model, and that is okay. I'm only 5'1', about 120 lbs, with curves. There is something wrong with our society when even Marilyn Monroe would be considered too 'fat' by today's fashion industry standards.

Historically, white women avoided the sun as well, so she was not blaming whites, she was telling it the way it was. Ironically now white women go out of their way to darken their skin by tanning, despite the health risks. It seems no matter what our racial background is, we still spend hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars and countless hours in front of the mirror trying to alter our natural beauty.
