Kristan HallMemberThe best way to get rid of lice is to treat your hair with some kind of oil, be it baby oil, corn oil, olive oil… The oil smothers the lice, making it impossible for them to breathe. If a black person does not use oil-based products in his or her hair, he or she can get lice, too.

Kristan HallMemberPeople like that don’t deserve to be called names. She lives like that because no one ever taught her how to live correctly. There also issues of self-esteem. So what did you do? Drop the lady and kid at the hospital, promptly forgetting them until you saw this post? Did it occur to you to tell the lady how to get help? Did you call child protective services? Sign up to be a Big Brother? Don’t thumb your nose at people like this when you had the luxury of a decent family.

Kristan HallMemberWhy are people poor? Perhaps no one ever taught them the neccessary skills to get a job, maybe they lack enough education, maybe jobs are hard to find. If no one ever taught them the skills needed to get a job, then they probably never learned housekeeping skills either. As a kid, my mom taught me to pick up my room before bed and put away the things that I used as soon as I was finished. Some kids are not taught like that. Also, a lot of poorer people suffer from learned hopelessness and depression. If everything you attempt does not work out, why bother anymore?

Kristan HallMemberI’m white, so maybe I’m not the right person to respond. I think that, across all racial lines, the younger generations are more prone to feeling victimized. In regards to African Americans who feel they are victimized, well… have you ever ridden in a nice neighborhood with a black man? Have you ever gone grocery shopping in a nice store with a black person? Africans Americans feel victimized because they are treated as second class citizens because of the pigmentation of their skin.

Kristan HallMemberIf you found a man who was good to you, treated you with love, and consideration, your daughter will never be confused about how a man should treat her. If that man happens to be of another race, how would she be confused?

Kristan HallMemberI feel that anyone living in America should just refer to him/herself as an American regardless of color. Otherwise, I’d be an French-Canadian-Irish-English-Swedish-MicManan-American. Puleeeese!
