It is with the heart and soul that one loves. Disabled people have no more difficulties than ‘abled’ people. We have nothing inhibiting our heart and soul, just challenges facing our minds and bodies which make our hearts and souls stronger for those who dare to discover.

Having been picked on a great deal of my childhood and adolescence for being short I, now wiser, can say Stephanie, it is these peoples’s own ‘short’ sightedness, not my height that is the issue. Height just happens to be a visible enough target to also be an easy one. How ‘short’ sighted it is to pick on something one can do nothing about.

One word here–ask. Granted, some may snap at you. But then, some ‘abled’ people do too. I’d rather have someone ask me if they can hold a door for me, etc. than have someone allow it to smack me, even if I weren’t disabled. Lending a helping hand to a fellow human being is never wrong. If you do, and you’re snapped at, at least you took the high road. *smiles*
