With rights come responsibilities. Few would object to the Kennedy, Rockefeller, DuPont clans having many children, mainly because we assume they have the financial assets to raise and support them well. If they became wards of the state, and continued to breed while on the dole, many would shout, ‘Unfair!’, for having to bear the open-ended tax burden necessary to support such activity. Even a compassionate pleuralistic society has limits.
