I honestly don’t believe the title of the book was meant to be taken to heart. I’ve never noticed such a phenomenon, but I’m white, so perhaps my perception is somewhat skewed. Sometimes you just have to try to shrug or laugh things off when people take shots at you. If the worst thing I have to put up with in my lifetime regarding my race is someone saying I smell like a wet dog when I come out of the rain, I’ll thank God for that. There are much worse things a person can endure.
