I think it’s great that you like ‘our’ rock – I think it is a compliment to hear my daughter sing songs that I enjoyed many years ago – I also like the ‘updated’ versions of the old songs. It’s hard to imagine that so many of those old songs, recorded sometimes without much sophistication, would outlast many of the artists!
