I was in the mall the other day, as I was walking out there was this severely handicapped guy looking at me quite intently. So, I gave him the same nod I'd give anyone and continued to walk by. He stopped me with a 'hey,' and asked me to grab his tool that he had dropped (he used a stick in his mouth to move the chair). So I grabbed it, asked where I should put it and moved on. There is nothing about this interaction that was defined by his handicap, except the obvious.

There is a comedian in Seattle that I have seen a few times, I cant remember his name. One of my favorite jokes of his, "I like being a handicap driver in Seattle. I fit right in." He is handicap after an auto accident... be careful what you say...

In Seattle we have a couple of older ladies in newscasts. One in particular is as old (within three years) as the male anchor. In answer to your question, though, I would like to offer that in the time that our older generation was at the age to decide a carrear path, most women didn't go into broadcast journallism. During the last 15 years many women have chosen that field. Thus, you're noticing only the age group of the anchors. Of all age groups, women have gained many positions.

Both the Bible and science has our ancestory traced to the area around Northern Africa and the Middle East. In order to survive the constant sun it is necessary to have skin pigmentation. Therefore, I believe that Noah and his family would most closely resemble those of the African race. As far as the second, and more important part of your question the answer is a little more complicated. As humans moved around the world, those most able to adapt to their own area were the ones who survived and had offspring. Those of us today who have large noses probably had ancestors who found large noses necessary. The physical traits that make up a race are dominant because it was necessary at some point along the line. I am assuming the second part of your question refers to the animosity felt towards those of other races and the discrimination that follows. This really began to emerge when the Europeans began traveling around the globe. They encountered different people and, being Europeans, they began to classify them as less than White. As far as the Bible is concerned, it was written in a small geographical area. Any difference between groups of people would not have been very dramatic. However, you do see certain clans in the Old Testament and nations in the New Testament. When they are described they are shown in the light of armies and purity, just the things that did matter to those writing the information down. The way we think of races today not only includes skin tone (lost to the Europeans) but also many other things that just did not matter at the time the books in the Bible were written.

Body Hair is a sign of more testoserone, and thus less fertility. Throughout history men have avoided women with hairy arms and legs as they may have a problem producing offspring. Now, in our post-industrialized society, it is no longer necessary to avoid hairy women. However many men still find it unattractive, including myself.

I am partially deaf, I wear hearing aids. I played football in High School for two years. I did not have too many difficulties, due to my lip-reading skills, and my partial hearing. If you have any questions... reply and it will be sent to my e-mail.

Evolutionary Psychology teaches us that men are more interested in women that can produce more babies, and thus increase the probability that their genes will last. Men are looking for younger women, even though they may not be in their sexual, spiritual, or cognitive prime, because deep down they want a greater opportunity for more children.
