Yes, my closest friend is a black man (more like a brother). He even lived with my husband and myself for almost a year when he was going through some difficult times. He was absolutely the best house guest you could ever ask for. He picked up after himself, helped with dishes, cleaning. My parents always taught me not to be prejudice. That people are people, no matter what their color, religion, handicap, ect. may be. I was taught to look at the inner person, not what someone’s “outer shell” looks like. They are people, just like everyone else.

I think children feel like the parents really care about them if they take the time to discipline/spank them. I don’t think you should spank a child when you are angry. A child needs to know that their parents love and care about what they do. I think spanking a child makes them think twice about doing the same thing again. You have a better, well behaved child if you do spank. If you don’t discipline a child, they think they can do or say anything without conseqences. I was never spanked as a child, but should have been. I grew up thinking my parents didn’t really care about me.

I have never noticed the difference betweeen races as to whether they wash or don’t wash their hands. When I was brought up, i was never taught to wash my hands after using the bathroom. I don’t know why because my mother was a clean woman. It was probably not until I was in high school did I notice others washing their hands. Now as an adult, I do it because it is the right thing to do, althought I think handwashing is way over done.

The Bible tells us we should witness to people and tell others about Jesus in a gentle way. I don’t think they should continue to harp on you or judge you about going to church or having a relationship with God. I think Christians just want others to have the joy they have in loving the Lord. I have lived both ways in my life and I am definitely a happier person by accepting Jesus as my savior.

Yes, I have several black friends. I even had a close black friend live with us for a year. I was always raised that people are people – to look at the inside of a person, not their skin color.
