I certainly did not grow up rich, but I defnitely am upper middle-class. I grew up in a very WASPy well to do town- I didn’t realize until I went to college that not everyone went to college. It was just assumed where I was from that you would- even if you went to public school. Now I have a somewhat clearer picture of how well-off I am, more than feeling guilty I feel incredibly lucky. I don’t feel like I’m spoiled, but I know that I would never have been able to accomplish most of what I have without being born to well-off parents in the US.
