There’s a lot more to this than you might think. It’s easy to look at the history of the world as having occurred within the last several centuries (or decades), but don’t fall into that trap. Every situation is unique, rather than part of a trend. Throughout history, slavery is easily as widespread and universal as war. Slavery is generally the hallmark of successful civilization. The Egyptians are an excellent example, as are the Turks, Romans, English and, obviously, the Americans. It’s a testament to the singularity of Democracy that Americans more or less ended slavery. As for who was subjugated by the ‘white man’s burden,’ it was once whites. There are a lot of adherents of ancient European religions out there (though many are virulent racists), and they’re just as mad at Christianity as most Afrocentrics (many of whom are also virulent racists). Also, try not to look at Hitler as the result of years of white anti-Semitism.
