This long-time listener has watched NPR’s gradual slide to the right. It’s tragic, but I still listen, because what’s the alternative? The politics aren’t really important — what’s missing, curiously, from almost every discussion of public broadcasting is the main reason we still tune in — NO COMMERCIALS! (Of course, that’s no longer true; either — but unlike commercial broadcasting, it’s easy to ‘tune out’ the sponser mentions.)
