One of the important roles of a parent is to teach our children good judgment. How will our kids, who are approaching adulthood, learn to handle their own finances if they let peer pressure convince them that $30 jeans are no good because they aren’t $75 Tommy Hilfiger jeans. We know that our kids are not going to be able to live a $100,000 lifestyle until they start earning $100,000. And that won’t be for a long time to come. They’d better learn to make wiser choices with my money before they have to start living on their own.
