The answers to this have been pretty surprising. While I wasn't surprised that some people couldn't see past the 'porn always degrades women' myth (something usually said by conservatives who want to suddenly pose as women's rights activists and even many feminsts don't agree with), I was pretty amazed at how some people answered a question about racist stereotypes with more racist stereotypes of their own. Justin with his old 'wily Oriental men' racism, Andrea with her 'positive stereotype' (if there is such a thing) of white men, and Cheerie with her accusation that Asian women who do this must be acting like blacks or 'too ghetto'...these answers just say a lot about how deeply embedded their own racism is. It really is interesting in the light of all the questions in this forum lately about what Asians think about blacks and whites. It makes me agree with those people who think Asians are obsessed with whiteness and don't care for black people. And Justin, geez...did it ever occur to you that I think Asian women are beautiful not because of that racist stereotype, but in spite of it, because I think their features are beautiful? Did it ever occur to any of you that the reason I prefer porn made in Asia is because it is usually NOT misogynistic like most American porn? That should be the subject of a different post in the Gender category, but in Asian porn movies, the male stars and directors actually care about getting to know the women AS people and seeing the women enjoy themselves. One more thing that still leaves me frustrated...why could no one give me an answer to my main question? How can someone lust after women they hate? Shouldn't these white racist male porn stars not be able to stomach being around these Asian women they hate?
