Well, I suppose I’ll give you an answer. It sounds like your friend just might not be all the way out yet. Coming out is a hard thing to do, and you as his friend shouldn’t feel at all slighted that he hasn’t told you. Sometimes it’s easier to just hit on girls and try to live what many consider a normal life, even if it may be anything but normal for the individual concerned. I have never had a sexual attraction to a female, and I have hid my sexuality in much the same way as your friend has appeared to. I don’t think stories like this are at all uncommon. Also, if you confront your friend about seeing this online profile, don’t be surprised or feel bad if he totally denies it. Maybe he’s not ready to tell you, maybe he’s not ready to tell anyone.
