LarryMemberThere was a time when many clubs and organizations were closed to anything but whites but that time has passed for the most part, but many minorities won’t believe you when you tell them so. I’m sure I will be castigated by one minority or another over my answer, saying that it just ain’t so but that’s the facts of life these days. The times have changed for the better. Thank God.

What I find as racist is if you had a white guy on stage doing a routine about black people there would be riots in the streets and the black community would be screaming ‘RACISM’ and all hell would break loose. That’s what is racist about it. There is a major double standard today in what is acceptable speech. Blacks and other minorities can say anything they want in a racist fashion but let anyone in the white community try that kind of bit and there is hell to pay.

The great commision was to ‘Go and make desciples of all nations’ That means we are supposed to take the gospel to all people of all nations, which is what we are doing, no matter what the name of the religion is, whether it be Baptist, Church of Christ, whatever. We are carrying out the Great commision. That’s what is important. There are disagreements over traditions in churches and that’s why there are so many different religions, but the goal remains the same. The good news is that there isn’t the infighting that we used to see in years passed. That means we are getting closer to the promised day of Christ. You also said; ‘Is religion really necessary, or can we establish one main one that could unite all in how to follow in the name of Christ?’ Nope, can’t happen. One disagreement over one interpretation of something written in the bible and voila, a new religion starts. That’s why there are so many now. And it’s always little meaningless things like whether to have instruments played in church. Some say yes, others say no. You’re old enough to know that human nature will not let man completely agree on eveything, that’s why God didn’t forbid us establishing many religions based on the truths of Christ. Later kiddo 🙂

LarryMemberIt’s an urban legend. The term Black Irish came about because of the mass Irish imigration to America during the 19th century to escape the Black blight, or the potato famine as it is better known. The Irish immagrants picked up the name Black Irish and it stuck.

Maybe the people you hear bragging are not secure with who they are so they have to build themselves up because no one else will. But is it white folks in general? I doubt it. I believe I am correct when I say I have heard some blacks do a little bragging too. One of my all time favorite people is also one of the biggest braggers I know. The name Muhammed Ali ring any bells? 🙂 Of course he wrecks the idea of braggers being insecure with themselves doesn’t he? 😉
