    ...that it has to do with black people or in any way relates to black people. For example 'He denigrated my good name' is synonymous with 'He sullied my good name' which means 'to dirty'. I think the black just comes from the idea that one is 'making dirty' whatever they are talking about and rubbing dirt on something could make it black, or dark.

    I lived in Florida for a while and people were lazy as hell down there. I think that when every day is laying-on-the-beach-and-drinking-frozen-margaritas weather, people don't want to stay in the office all the time.

    First of all, what you ate was Noodle Kugel (the sweet mac & cheese) and the coconut dessert was , I imagine, a macaroon. That food is culturally Jewish, generally coming from the Jews who imigrated to America from Eastern Europe/Russia. What I assume you mean by 'Hebrew' food is Israeli food, which is basically the same as most Middle Eastern food.
