I asked my husband something similar one time. I wanted to know why guys get erections while they are sleeping and first thing in the morning. He explained that it has to do with blood flow to the tissue in the member. A non-erect penis does not have a lot of blood flow. Blood flow is required for healthy tissue, so at various times throughout the day and night an erection will occur to increase the blood flow through the penis. This is natural and has nothing to do with sexual arousal.
