JoshParticipantFrom my experience, I notice that more gay men are flakey than not. It’s one of those things that applies to all people, though. I believe it’s a larger social problem, but gay men are more likely to be flakey. I know I am. I wish I could tell you why! I also know gay men who aren’t. It’s one of those really gray questions.

JoshParticipantI think a lot of people are intimidated by the provider they are seeing. In many cases the provider is also under a tremendous amount of pressure and there is a feeling of urgency to end the visit, often without asking what’s on his or her mind.

JoshParticipantAlex, I’ve had the same problem. In high school I was lucky enough to just have a feeling about a guy and we ended up being together for a year and a half. It’s risky, especially in high school. Maybe you can find some gay/bi/lesbian youth groups in your area. If not, one way is to open the door slowly to the possibility you might be and seeing how he reacts. A lot of it is just reading between the lines.
