I don’t think so – I can’t speak on behalf of lesbians, but I think most gay men, like me, would use ‘naked-time’ in front of the mirror to notice any visible flaws, or the parts of the body that could use some work (surgical, OR work-out).) I do think it’s true that a lot of gay men tend to take a strong interest in looking good, and continuing to look good as they age, but then again, so do a lot of straight men. There are always extremes though, so I’m sure it wouldn’t be painfully hard to find someone who is turned on by looking at his/her own body in a mirror – perhaps they’re stimulated by what they’ve achieved through exercise or diet. That same exception might explain why some people hang mirrors over their beds (regardless of gay or straight)?

I grew up spending a fair amount of time with my god-parents, who are both Chinese, and over the years, we ate in countless Chinese restaurants in both the U.S. and Canada. As an adult, I still love Chinese food, and eat in Chinese restaurants fairly often. Based on my experience, I have never noticed that blacks frequent Chinese restaurants any more or less than anyone else. Two interesting side points tho – 1) I have noticed that (at least here in the midwest), blacks almost always tend to outnumber whites when dining at the Red Lobster chain, and at the same time, I have very seldom observed Asian people eating in Red Lobster restuarants. 2) My Chinese god-parents used to tell me that if I went into a Chinese restaurant, and didn’t notice at least a few tables of Chinese people somewhere in the restuarant, I should go somewhere else because the food probably wasn’t very good. Quirky, but sort of logical at the same time, isn’t it?
