Living beyond one's means is almost the American way. No one wants to be thought of as poor. This will continue in a society that praises wealth and status.

Anytime a person is told that they are a great person for the opposite sex, yet has no one, it should send a red flag that you may have issues, such as low self esteem, that could be driving them away.
