Marisa, if you think at 15 that obeying your elders is such a burden, feel free to dispense with all the things those elders provide for you (food, clothing, shelter, love, support, etc.) and go out on your own. You seem to want independence so bad…GO for it! Quit accepting those demeaning hand-outs from your overbearing, manipulative elders and make it on your own! Don’t have the guts for that? Maybe not…but until you do, shut up, sit down and be grateful that someone cares enough about you to take care of you and teach you what life is really about.

Ashley, if you read the Jacksonville Times-Union regularly, you may have seen in November 2004 a news article about a Caucasian who donated a kidney to a black. Part of her motivation was to put an end to questions such as yours…and I know because I was that donor. It’s also why, when a form asks for my race, I enter ‘human’. Probably some blood and tissue types occur more often in some ethnic groups than others, but here’s the bottom line: HUMAN is HUMAN.

It has nothing to do with what the parents can afford. The fact is that the PLANET cannot continue to support such unbridled population growth! If you love chidren so much that you’ve got to have six or eight, ADOPT!! There are MILLIONS of them who need loving homes and parents. Anything more than two of oyur own biological offspring (some would even say one) is nothing but gross selfishness, and it’s going to destroy this planet.
